Abstract
A method of thermal insulation of a pool ( 300 ) is provided, the method comprising the steps of preparing a pool structure ( 20, 22 ), and attaching a layer ( 24 ) of thermal insulation material to an interior surface of the pool structure ( 20, 22 ). Also provided are a pool constructed according to such a method and a pool comprising a pool structure and a layer of thermal insulation material attached to an interior surface of a floor of the pool structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 26 . (canceled)
. A method of thermally insulating a pool, said method comprising steps of preparing a pool structure and attaching a layer of thermal insulation material to an interior surface of said pool structure.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein said step of preparing the pool structure comprises a step of building a new pool structure.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein said step of preparing the pool structure comprises a step of preparing an existing pool structure, to enable said layer of thermal insulation material to be attached thereto.
. The method of claim 28 , wherein said step of building a new pool structure includes attaching a further layer of thermal insulation material to an exterior surface of said pool structure.
. The method of claim 29 , wherein said step of preparing an existing pool structure comprises of draining said existing pool structure and preparing an interior surface of said existing pool structure for attachment of said layer of thermal insulation material.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein the step of attaching a layer of thermal insulation material to an interior surface of said pool structure comprises applying an adhesive to a least one of said layer and said surface.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein the step of attaching a layer of thermal insulation material to an interior surface of said pool structure comprises fastening said layer of thermal insulation to said surface by means of a mechanical fastener.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein said layer of thermal insulation material comprises an impermeable material.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein said layer of thermal insulation material comprises at least one thermal insulation board.
. The method of claim 35 , wherein said at least one thermal insulation board is coated on all surfaces thereof with a sealant layer.
. The method of claim 35 , wherein said at least one thermal insulation board is selected from a phenolic insulation board and a cellular glass insulation board.
. The method of claim 27 , wherein the step of attaching a layer of thermal insulation material to an internal surface of said pool structure comprises attaching said layer to at least one of a wall and a floor of said pool structure.
. The method of claim 27 , further comprising a step of applying a finish to said layer of thermal insulation material.
. The method of claim 39 , wherein the step of applying a finish to said layer of thermal insulation material comprises tiling said layer.
. The method of claim 39 , wherein the step of applying a finish comprises laying a waterproof liner over the said layer.
. The method of claim 41 , further comprising a step of providing said layer of thermal insulation with at least one aperture arranged to permit liquid located between said liner and said layer to escape from said pool structure.
. The method of claim 36 , wherein said layer of thermal insulation material comprises a plurality of insulation boards, said method comprising a step of sliding edges of neighbouring boards against one another so as to trap a layer of sealant between said edges of said plurality of boards.
. The method of claim 27 , further comprising a step of bevelling at least one edge selected from upper edges of said layer of thermal insulation material attached to at least one wall of said pool structure and edges of an aperture formed in said layer of thermal insulation material.
. A pool constructed according to the method of claim 27 , said pool comprising a pool structure and a layer of thermal insulation material attached to an interior surface of a floor of said pool structure.
. The pool of claim 45 , further comprising a layer of thermal insulation material attached to an interior surface of at least one wall of said pool structure.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
