Systems and methods for providing a personalized exchange market

Abstract

The present invention relates to systems and methods for providing a personalized exchange market, and more specifically, to systems and methods for establishing personalized pledge agreements for uncertain future events or occurrences. In one embodiment, the invention includes a method including the steps of facilitating a pledge offer via a network, the pledge offer specifying an outcome of an uncertain future occurrence, the uncertain future occurrence being independently definable; facilitating an acceptance of the pledge offer over via the network, the acceptance forming a pledge agreement; determining the outcome; and facilitating performance of the pledge agreement based on the outcome.

1 . A method, the method comprising the steps of:
 facilitating a pledge offer via a network, the pledge offer specifying an outcome of an uncertain future occurrence, the uncertain future occurrence being independently definable;   facilitating an acceptance of the pledge offer via the network, the acceptance forming a pledge agreement;   determining the outcome; and   facilitating performance of the pledge agreement based on the outcome.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising the step of:
 facilitating a transfer of an interest in the pledge agreement.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising the step of:
 facilitating a transfer of a secondary asset in the pledge agreement.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining is based on received data. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising the step of:
 accessing information generated from any of the pledge, the acceptance, the outcome, the performance, and the transfer.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising the step of:
 using a prediction system based on the information to generate a forecast of the outcome before it occurs.   
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , further comprising the step of:
 making available any of the information, the prediction system, and the forecast.   
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising the step of:
 facilitating a combination of the pledge agreement with at least one additional pledge agreement to form a portfolio.   
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein any of the pledge agreement and the at least one additional pledge agreement are any of a traditional, non-traditional, and alternative type. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising the step of:
 facilitating a transfer of at least part of the portfolio.   
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the uncertain future occurrence is a health related outcome for an individual. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , further comprising the step of:
 facilitating access to a medical record of the individual,   wherein the acceptance is based in part on the medical record of the individual.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising the step of:
 facilitating a transfer of an interest in the pledge agreement.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 13 , further comprising the step of:
 accessing information generated from any of the pledge, the acceptance, the outcome, the performance, and the transfer.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14 , further comprising the step of:
 using a prediction system based on the information to generate a forecast of the outcome before it occurs.   
     
     
         16 . A system, the system comprising:
 an uncertain future occurrence exchange, the uncertain future occurrence exchange being configured to couple a plurality of participants via a computer network,   wherein the uncertain future occurrence exchange facilitates
 receiving a pledge offer from a first participant, the pledge offer including a pledge for an outcome of an uncertain future occurrence, the uncertain future occurrence being independently definable by the first participant; 
 receiving an acceptance of the pledge offer by a second participant, the acceptance of the offer forming a pledge agreement; 
 determining the outcome; and 
 facilitating performance of the pledge agreement based on the outcome. 
   
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 16 , wherein the second participant is the uncertain future occurrence exchange. 
     
     
         18 . A system for making outcome forecasts of uncertain future occurrences, the system comprising:
 an uncertain future occurrence exchange, the uncertain future occurrence exchange configured to facilitate a transaction of a pledge agreement among a plurality of participants for an outcome of an uncertain future occurrence; and   a prediction component, the prediction component coupled to the uncertain future occurrence exchange, the prediction component configured to receive information regarding the transaction,   wherein the prediction component is configured to forecast the outcome of the uncertain future occurrence based on the information.
