Abstract
A lead includes a conductor having a distal end and a proximal end. The lead also includes a filter circuit in the conductor. The filter circuit filters out magnetic resonance imaging induced signals.

a conductor having a distal end and a proximal end; and a filter circuit in said conductor; said filter circuit filtering out magnetic resonance imaging induced signals.

7 . The lead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the conductor is a conductor in a bipolar pacing lead circuit.
8 . The lead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the conductor is a conductor in a unipolar pacing lead circuit.
9 . The lead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the conductor is a conductor in a cardiac defibrillator lead, a deep brain stimulating lead, or a conductor in a nerve stimulating lead.
10 . A lead, comprising:
a plurality of conductors, each conductor having a distal end and a proximal end; and a plurality of filter circuits, each filter circuit being in a conductor, each filter circuit filtering out magnetic resonance imaging induced signals.
11 . The lead as claimed in claim 10 , wherein each filter circuit is located at said distal end of said conductor.
12 . The lead as claimed in claim 10 , wherein each filter circuit is located at said proximal end of said conductor.
13 . The lead as claimed in claim 10 , wherein each filter circuit is an inductor/capacitor pair.
14 . The lead as claimed in claim 13 , wherein each inductor/capacitor pair is an inductor connected in parallel with a capacitor.
15 . The lead as claimed in claim 10 , wherein each filter circuit is a tank circuit.
16 . The lead as claimed in claim 10 , wherein said conductors are conductors in a cardiac defibrillator lead, a deep brain stimulating lead, or a conductor in a nerve stimulating lead.
17 . A lead, comprising:
a conductor having a distal end and a proximal end; an electrode connected to said distal end of said conductor; and a filter circuit in said conductor; said filter circuit being connected in series between said conductor and said electrode; said filter circuit filtering out magnetic resonance imaging induced signals.
18 . The lead as claimed in claim 17 , wherein said filter circuit is an inductor and a capacitor.
19 . The lead as claimed in claim 18 , wherein said inductor and capacitor are connected in parallel.
20 . The lead as claimed in claim 17 , wherein said filter circuit is a tank circuit.
21 . The lead as claimed in claim 17 , wherein the conductor is a conductor in a bipolar pacing lead circuit.

35 . The lead as claimed in claim 33 , wherein each filter circuit is located at said proximal end of said conductor.
36 . The lead as claimed in claim 33 , wherein each filter circuit is an inductor/capacitor pair.
37 . The lead as claimed in claim 36 , wherein each inductor/capacitor pair is an inductor connected in parallel with a capacitor.
38 . The lead as claimed in claim 33 , wherein each filter circuit is a tank circuit.
