Method of providing online database containing proprietary information

Abstract

A method for making a particular customer's data on a database containing data for several customers available only to that customer. The data is formatted so that a selected group of data can be accessed by a specific customer by using an identifier which is unique to that customer's data.

1 . A method for providing customers with the information necessary for a customer to ascertain the fire safety compliance of a particular facility comprising: 
 (a) inspecting said facility and recording information regarding existing firestop barriers for all locations in the facility where a firestop is necessary;    (b) taking photographs of each said location;    (c) placing said information and photographs on an online database; and    (d) providing each customer with a unique identifier which permits that customer to access only the data associated with that customer's facility.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1  including taking photographs of each said location and placing said photographs on said database.  
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said identifier includes a customer name and a key so that each customer can have multiple keys, each of which permits access only to a particular group of data that is relevant to that customer.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said information includes the specifications of particular products used to create each said firestop barrier.  
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the database permits said customer to enter a work order requesting that a firestop barrier be installed at a specific location.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the database includes reminder dates for reinspection of a specific location.
