Abstract

A lockable holder includes a body defining a cavity and a recess communicated with the cavity. A first magnet is embedded in the body. A clamping member is removably insertable into the cavity and has a bore. A locking member includes a second magnet movable between an unlocking position wherein the second magnet is received within the bore and a locking position wherein the second magnet is partly extracted from the bore, and the partly extracted portion of the second magnet is inserted into the recess. The body includes a clamping surface and opposite guide passages connected to the cavity. When the clamping member is urged against the clamping surface to clamp a strap, the second magnet is moved from the unlocking to locking position and magnetically attracted to the first magnet to lock the clamping member in position.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

a body defining a cavity and a recess communicated with said cavity, said body including a first magnetic element; a clamping member removably insertable into said cavity and having a bore; and a locking member including a second magnetic element movable between an unlocking position wherein said second magnetic element is received within said bore and a locking position wherein said second magnetic element is partly extracted from said bore, and said partly extracted portion of said second magnetic element is inserted into said recess of said body, said body including a clamping surface located adjacent to said cavity and at least one guide passage adapted to receive an object to be clamped, said second magnetic element being moved from said unlocking position to said locking position and magnetically attracted to said first magnetic element to lock said clamping member in position when said clamping member is operatively associated with said clamping surface of said body to clamp the object therebetween.

2 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 , wherein said body includes two guide passages defined at opposite sides of said cavity and connected to said cavity, and an elongated element sized to pass through said two guide passages and constituting the object, said elongated element having one end secured to said body and an opposite free end.

3 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 wherein said first and second magnetic elements are permanent magnets.

4 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 , wherein one of said first and second magnetic elements is a permanent magnet, and the other magnetic element is made of a ferromagnetic material.

5 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 , wherein said clamping member has a gripping end, and an opposite clamping end, and wherein said clamping end of said clamping member is concaved, and said clamping surface of said body is convexed.

6 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 , wherein said clamping member has a gripping end, and an opposite clamping end, and wherein said clamping end of said clamping member is convexed, and said clamping surface of said body is concaved.

7 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 , wherein said body has two guide passages defined at opposite sides of said cavity and connected to said cavity, further including a discrete elongated element sized to pass through said two guide passages and constituting the object.

8 . A lockable holder according to claim 7 , wherein said discrete elongated element is folded in an overlapping relationship when said discrete elongated element is passed through said two guide passages.

9 . A lockable holder according to claim 1 , wherein said body includes a release hole communicated with said recess.

10 . A lockable holder according to claim 9 , further comprising a discrete key removably insertable into said release hole so as to urge said second magnetic element from said locking position to said unlocking position.

11 . A lockable holder according to claim 9 , wherein said body includes a release member partly inserted into said release hole to urge said second magnetic element from said locking position to said unlocking position.

12 . A lockable holder according to claim 11 , wherein said release member includes a rod and opposite enlarged heads connected to opposite ends of said rod, one of said enlarged heads being located internally of said release hole, and the other enlarged head being located externally of said body.

       13 . A lockable holder comprising:
a body defining a cavity and a recess communicated with said cavity, said body including a first magnetic element; a clamping member removably insertable into said cavity and having a bore; and a locking member including a second magnetic element movable between an unlocking position wherein said second magnetic element is received within said bore and a locking position wherein said second magnetic element is partly extracted from said bore, and said partly extracted portion of said second magnetic element is inserted into said recess of said body, said body including a clamping surface located in said cavity and opposite guide passages located at opposite sides of said cavity and communicated with said cavity, a flexible elongated element sized to pass through said opposite guide passages, said elongated element being mountable to said body to connect said body to an object, said second magnetic element being moved from said unlocking position to said locking position and magnetically attracted to said first magnetic element to lock said clamping member in position when said clamping member is operatively associated with said clamping surface of said body to clamp said elongated element therebetween.

14 . A lockable holder according to claim 13 , wherein said elongated element has one end secured to said body and a free opposite end.

15 . A lockable holder according to claim 13 , wherein said elongated element is a discrete strap removably mounted to said body through said opposite guide passages.

16 . A lockable holder according to claim 13 , wherein said body includes a release hole communicated with said recess.

17 . A lockable holder according to claim 16 , further comprising a discrete key removably inserted into said release hole so as to urge said second magnetic element from said locking position to said unlocking position.
