Fan unit

Abstract

A fan unit comprises a housing, which possesses a first housing wall having an air inlet, and an opposite parallel second housing wall having an air outlet, and a side wall arrangement connecting the first housing wall with the second housing wall. A holding plate is arranged between the first housing wall and the second housing wall adjacent to the air inlet for a suction blower drawing air from the air inlet and having a blower motor, said blower impeller being arranged between the air inlet and the holding plate, said blower impeller being adapted to blow drawn in air radially outward. The area of the holding plate is at least twice as large as the area of the air inlet and the holding plate together with the first housing wall constitutes a diffusor for the radially emerging blower air. This improves the efficiency of the fan unit and an increase in pressure is achieved which makes possible a reduction in the speed of rotation.

A fan unit comprising a housing, which possesses a first housing wall having an air inlet, and an opposite parallel second housing wall having an air outlet, and a side wall arrangement connecting the first housing wall with the second housing wall, a holding plate arranged between the first housing wall and the second housing wall adjacent to the air inlet for a suction blower for drawing air from the air inlet and having a blower motor, a blower impeller being arranged between the air inlet and the holding plate, said blower impeller being adapted to blow drawn in air radially outward, wherein the area of the holding plate is at least twice as large as the area of the air inlet and the holding plate together with the first housing wall constitutes a diffusor for the radially emerging blower air.  
   
   
       2 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the blower motor of the suction blower comprising same and the blower impeller is secured and more especially screwed to the holding plate.  
   
   
       3 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the holding plate is secured to one of the first housing walls by means of spacer elements and is more particularly secured to the first housing wall.  
   
   
       4 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the holding plate and/or the first housing wall and/or the side wall arrangement of the housing are at least partially made of noise silencing material or are provided or coated with such material at least in flow relevant areas.  
   
   
       5 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the air inlet and/or the air outlet is provided with an air filter arrangement.  
   
   
       6 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 5 , wherein the second housing wall consists essentially of the air filter arrangement.  
   
   
       7 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the blower motor is inserted into the blower impeller.  
   
   
       8 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the blower impeller possesses a terminal disk on its end side facing face away from the air inlet, such disk being directly positioned on the holding plate or being let into it.  
   
   
       9 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the air inlet possesses a round cross section and preferably has an air guide means.  
   
   
       10 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the holding plate is designed in the form of a round disk and/or is arranged parallel to the first housing wall.  
   
   
       11 . The fan unit as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the housing is in the form of a circular disk or is rectangular.
