Abstract

The subject-matter of the present invention is multifunctional corrosion inhibitors for protecting from top of line corrosion and bottom line corrosion for pipes used in particular in the petroleum industry. The corrosion-inhibiting compositions comprise, as inhibitors, at least one amine with a boiling point of between 105 and 130° C.

1 . A process for limiting top of line corrosion of oil pipes, comprising injecting an inhibitory composition comprising, as corrosion inhibitor, at least one amine with a boiling point of between 105 and 130° C. or at least one amine chosen from: 
 (A) pyridine and its derivatives (mono-, di- and trialkylpyridines),    (B) 3-methoxypropylamine (MOPA),    (C) ethyldiisopropylamine (EDIPA),    of the inhibitory composition, pure or diluted, into a petroleum fluid present and/or circulating in the pipe.    
   
   
       2 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein the corrosion inhibitor comprises pyridine and/or its:  
     
       
         
         
             
             
         
       
     
     and mono-, di- and/or trialkylpyridine derivatives.  
   
   
       3 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein the corrosion inhibitor comprises 3-methoxypropylamine (MOPA):  
     
       
         
         
             
             
         
       
     
   
   
       4 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein the corrosion inhibitor comprises ethyldiisopropylamine (EDIPA):  
     
       
         
         
             
             
         
       
     
   
   
       5 . A process for limiting top of line corrosion of oil pipes, characterized in that the corrosion inhibitors comprise a mixture of at least two of (A) pyridine, and/or its mono-di, and/or trialkyl derivatives, (B) MOPA and (C) EDIPA.  
   
   
       6 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein, the inhibitory composition further comprises at least one corrosion-inhibiting molecule chosen from imidazolines and/or their derivatives and/or phosphoric esters and/or thioacids.  
   
   
       7 . A process according to  claim 6 , wherein the inhibitory composition, used pure or diluted, comprises: 
 50 to 97 parts by weight of at least one amine having a boiling point between 105° C. and 130° C.,    1 to 10 parts by weight of at least one imidazoline,    1 to 20 parts by weight of at least one ethoxylated imidazoline,    1 to 20 parts by weight of at least one thioacid.    
   
   
       8 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein the inhibitory composition is soluble in all proportions in water.  
   
   
       9 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein the inhibitory formulation protects the pipe from both top of line corrosion and bottom line corrosion.  
   
   
       10 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein the inhibitory composition is injected continuously in a proportion of 100 ppm to 10 000 ppm, expressed as weight of the corrosion-inhibiting materials, per one part by volume of petroleum fluid to be treated.  
   
   
       11 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein said injecting is continuous.  
   
   
       12 . A process according to  claim 1 , wherein said corrosion inhibitor comprises at least one of (A), (B) and (C).  
   
   
       13 . A process according to  claim 7 , wherein said at least one amine comprises at least one of (A), (B) and (C).
