Abstract

The invention pertains to a cordless hair styler ( 100 ) which has a flexible body ( 102 ) comprising a flat flexible sheet of fabric which can be wrapped and unwrapped about rigid members ( 110, 112, 116 ) of the cordless hair styler to hold the rigid members in a selected storage and operative positions with respect to one another.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A cordless hair styler comprising:
a flexible body comprising a flat flexible sheet of fabric which can be wrapped and unwrapped about rigid members of the cordless hair styler to hold the rigid members in a selected compact storage and handy operative positions, respectively.

2 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 1 , wherein the rigid members comprise
an attachment an elongate member on which the attachment is pivotally supported; and an elongate battery pack

3 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 2 , wherein the flexible body is formed with pockets in which the elongate member and battery pack are respectively disposed and held in an essentially parallel relationship, the flexible body including a flexible extension portion which extends from one of the pockets and is wrappable about the elongate member and the battery pack so that the pocket in which the battery pack is disposed, and which is hinged to the pocket in which the elongate member is disposed, by a portion of the flexible body, can move into the space previously occupied by the attachment and hold the battery pack in a position with respect to the elongate member such that the elongate member and battery pack comprise a handle member which can be grasped during application of the attachment for hair styling.

4 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 3 , wherein the flexible body is formed of a fabric-like member and which foldable like a blanket.

5 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 3 , wherein the flexible body is formed of a multiple layers of flexible material which are sewn together to form the pockets in which the elongate member and the battery pack are disposed.

6 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 3 , wherein the flexible extension member is provided with a fastener which connects the flexible extension portion to a portion of the flexible body to hold the flexible extension portion in a wrapped condition on the flexible body

7 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 3 , wherein the connector comprises a Velcro® connector which has first and second portion are respectively attached to selected portions of the flexible body or the flexible extension portion to permit storage and operative state wrapping configurations to be made.

8 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 3 , further comprising electrically conductive wires which are disposed in the flexible body to interconnect the battery pack and the attachment.

9 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 8 , wherein the wires pass through a hinge portion formed in the flexible body between the pocket in which the elongate member is disposed and the pocket in which the battery pack is disposed.

10 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 8 , further comprising a switch mounted on the elongate member and operatively interposed between the battery pack and the attachment to control the supply of current from the battery pack to the attachment.

11 . A hair styler as set forth in claim 10 , wherein the attachment comprises a wand containing a heating element and a hair clamp which is pivotally supported on the wand to press hair against the wand.

12 . A method of housing a hair styler comprising:
disposing an elongate member on which an hair styling attachment is pivotally mounted, in one of a plurality of pockets formed in a flexible body disposing a battery pack in another of the pockets; folding the hair styling attachment so that it assumes a storage position parallel to the elongate member; wrapping the flexible body around the pockets so as to pull the elongate member the hair styling member and the battery pack into snug proximity with respect to each other; and fastening the flexible body to itself using a fastener to maintain the flexible body wrapped about the elongate member the hair styling member and the battery pack

13 . A method as set forth in claim 12 , further comprising:
releasing the fastener unwrapping the flexible body to uncover the attachment; unfolding the attachment so that it is assumes a predetermined operative position with respect to the elongate body rewrapping the flexible body about the elongate member and the battery back so as to pull the battery pack into close proximity of the elongate member and to form a handle which can be used during use of the attachment; and refastening the fastener
