Abstract

A system for controlling one or more emissions and a method of making thereof includes introducing ammonia to react with at least a portion of sulfur trioxides in an exhaust emission and result in at least one or more ammoniated compounds. At least a portion of fly ash particles and the ammoniated compounds in the exhaust emission are precipitated. At least a portion of the ammonia from the precipitated ammoniated compounds is recovered with heat from the exhaust emission and the recovered ammonia is reused.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A system for controlling one or more emissions, the system comprising:
a first ammonia delivery system connected to an exhaust system to introduce ammonia that reacts with at least a portion of sulfur trioxides in an exhaust emission and results in at least one or more ammoniated compounds; a precipitator system that precipitates at a least a portion of fly ash particles and the ammoniated compounds in the exhaust emission; a recovery system that recovers at least a portion of ammonia from the precipitated ammoniated compounds with heat from the exhaust emission; and a resupply system that supplies the recovered ammonia to the first ammonia delivery system.

2 . The system as set forth in claim 1 further comprising at least one combustion system connected to the exhaust system which combusts coal and create the exhaust emission in the exhaust system.

3 . The system as set forth in claim 1 wherein the first ammonia delivery system delivers the ammonia at a rate wherein at least a majority of the resulting ammoniated compounds comprise ammonium sulfate.

4 . The system as set forth in claim 1 further comprising:
a second ammonia delivery system connected to the exhaust system to introduce initial ammonia to react with at least a portion of nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxides in the exhaust emission and result in at least sulfur trioxides before the first ammonia delivery system introduces the ammonia that reacts with at least a portion of sulfur trioxides in the exhaust emission; wherein the recovery system recovers at least a portion of the initial ammonia from the precipitated ammoniated compounds with heat from the exhaust emission; wherein the resupply system supplies the recovered ammonia and the recovered initial ammonia to at least one of the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system.

5 . The system as set forth in claim 4 wherein at least one of the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system introduce the ammonia or the initial ammonia in a gaseous form and at least a partially liquid form.

6 . The system as set forth in claim 4 wherein the recovery system reclaims the heat from the exhaust emission from at least one of before the second ammonia delivery system and from between the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system.

7 . The system as set forth in claim 6 wherein the recovery system reclaims the heat from the exhaust emission from before the second ammonia delivery system further comprises the recovery system reclaims the heat from the exhaust emission from before a first reduction in temperature of the exhaust emission with a heat exchanger.

8 . The system as set forth in claim 6 wherein the recovery system reclaims the heat from the exhaust emission from before the second ammonia delivery system and from between the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system.

9 . The system as set forth in claim 1 further comprising a collection system that collects the precipitated fly ash particles from the recovery system.

10 . A method for making a system for controlling one or more emissions, the method comprising:
connecting a first ammonia delivery system to an exhaust system to introduce ammonia; connecting a precipitator system to the exhaust system after the first ammonia delivery system to precipitate at a least a portion of fly ash particles and ammoniated compounds in the exhaust emission; connecting a recovery system to the precipitator system and the exhaust system that recovers at least a portion of ammonia from the precipitated ammoniated compounds with heat from the exhaust emission; and connecting a resupply system to the first ammonia delivery system that supplies the recovered ammonia.

11 . The method as set forth in claim 10 further comprising connecting at least one combustion system to the exhaust system.

12 . The method as set forth in claim 10 wherein the first ammonia delivery system is set to deliver the ammonia at a rate wherein at least a majority of the ammoniated compounds resulting from the delivery of the ammonia comprise ammonium sulfate.

         13 . The method as set forth in  claim 10  further comprising connecting a second ammonia delivery system to the exhaust system to introduce initial ammonia before the connection of the first ammonia delivery system to the exhaust system;
wherein the recovery system is connected to recover at least a portion of the initial ammonia from the precipitated ammoniated compounds with heat from the exhaust emission; wherein the resupply system is connected to supply the recovered ammonia and the recovered initial ammonia to at least one of the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system.

14 . The method as set forth in claim 13 wherein at least one of the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system is set to introduce the ammonia or the initial ammonia in a gaseous form and at least a partially liquid form.

15 . The method as set forth in claim 13 wherein the recovery system is connected to reclaim the heat from the exhaust emission from at least one of before the second ammonia delivery system and from between the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system.

16 . The method as set forth in claim 15 wherein the recovery system is connected to reclaim the heat from the exhaust emission from before the second ammonia delivery system further comprises the recovery system is connected to reclaim the heat from the exhaust emission before a first reduction of temperature of the exhaust emission with a heat exchanger.

17 . The method as set forth in claim 16 wherein the recovery system is connected to reclaim the heat from the exhaust emission from before the second ammonia delivery system and from between the first ammonia delivery system and the second ammonia delivery system.

18 . The method as set forth in claim 10 further comprising a collection system connected to the recovery system to collect the precipitated fly ash particles.
