Abstract
Provided are layered non-woven structures comprising a fibrous, water-permeable anchoring layer and a fibrous layer having fibers entangled about the anchoring layer, including patterned and non-patterned structures. Also provided are personal care
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A layered, composite material comprising a fibrous, fluid-permeable anchoring layer having tensile strength of at least about 5 N/5 cm and a fibrous layer comprising fibers entangled about said anchoring layer, said composite material comprising a cross-section of entangled region and a cross-section of unentangled region, said entangled region and unentangled region being visibly. distinct from one another.
. The composite material of claim 1 having an LSV of greater than about 20 grams.
. The composite material of claim 1 having an LSV of greater than about 50 grams.
. The composite material of claim 1 having a drapeability of greater than about 8 gsm/g.
. The composite material of claim 1 wherein said material has a drapeability of greater than about 16 gsm/g.
. The composite material of claim 1 wherein said material has a density of less than about 0.15 g/cc.
. The composite material of claim 1 wherein said material has a density of less than about 0.12 g/cc.
. The composite material of claim 1 wherein said anchoring layer is selected from the group consisting of spun-bonded material, through air-bonded material, and combinations of two or more thereof
. The composite material of claim 8 wherein said anchoring layer comprises a spun-bonded material comprising one or more polyolefin fibers.
. The composite material of claim 1 wherein at least a portion of the fibers of said fibrous layer having fibers entangled about said anchoring layer comprise cellulose fibers.
. The composite material of claim 10 wherein said cellulose fibers comprise wood pulp.
. The composite material of claim 10 wherein said wood pulp comprises mercerized pulp.
. A personal care product comprising a material of claim 1 .
. The personal care product of claim 13 wherein said product comprises a sanitary pad or wipe.
. The personal care product of claim 13 wherein said product is a sanitary pad comprising a topsheet comprising the material of claim 1 .
. The personal care product of claim 13 wherein said anchoring layer comprises a body-faceable surface of said sanitary pad.
. A method of forming a layered, composite material comprising urging a stream of fluid into contact with a layered structure comprising a layer of unbonded fibers and a fluid-permeable, anchoring layer having a tensile strength of at least about 5 N/5 cm, wherein said anchoring layer is positioned to a least partially shield said layer of unbonded fibers from said stream of fluid, to produce a composite material comprising a cross-section of entangled region and a cross-section of unentangled region, said entangled region and unentangled region being visibly distinct from one another.
. The method of claim 17 further comprising positioning a translatable mask between such stream of fluid and such layered structure to at least partially shield said layered structure from said stream of fluid.
. The method of claim 17 wherein said stream entangles at least a portion of the fibers of said layer of unbonded fibers about said anchoring layer.
. The method of claim 17 wherein said anchoring layer comprises a spun-bonded material comprising one or more polyolefin fibers.
. The method of claim 17 wherein at least a portion of the unbonded fibers comprise cellulose fibers.
. The method of claim 21 wherein said cellulose fibers comprise mercerized pulp.Cited by (0)
