Methods and compositions for treating erectile dysfunction

Abstract

Methods are provided for increasing libido and/or treating erectile dysfunction in a man. The methods include the administration of a formulation testosterone alone, another fast-acting drug to treat erectile dysfunction or a combination of the testosterone and the other drug where at least one is delivered by aersolization. The formulation is preferably aerosolized and inhaled into a patient's lungs where particles of testosterone and/or the fast-acting erectile dysfunction drug deposits on lung tissue and then enter the patient's circulatory system.

         19 . A kit for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in a man, comprising: 
 a hand-held device for the aerosolized delivery of a formulation;    a container of an aerosolizable formulation comprising sildenafil.    
     
     
         20 . The kit of  claim 19 , further comprising: 
 a plurality of containers of aerosolizable formulation of sildenafil.    
     
     
         21 . The kit of  claim 20 , wherein each of the containers of sildenafil comprises 25 mg of aerosolizable sildenafil.  
     
     
         22 . The kit of  claim 20 , wherein each of the containers of sildenafil comprises 25 mg to 100 mg of aerosolizable sildenafil.  
     
     
         23 . The kit of  claim 19 , comprising from 1 to 100 containers of aerosolizable formulation of sildenafil.  
     
     
         24 . The kit of  claim 19 , comprising from 1 to 30 containers of aerosolizable formulation of sildenafil.
