Abstract
An eyewash system is disclosed. The eyewash system includes a mounting apparatus and a container coupled to the mounting apparatus and having a removable portion. Movement of the container relative to the mounting apparatus separates the removable portion from the container to provide an opening in the container. The removable portion may be provided on a cap coupled to the container. The container may be coupled to the mounting apparatus by a retaining device (such as a pin) inserted through one or more members extending from the base and through a tab extending from the removable portion.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of using an eyewash system comprising:
providing a base and a container having a removable portion, the base is coupled to the removable portion of the container; grasping the container; separating the container from the removable portion to provide an opening in the container by applying a single movement to the container relative to the base.
2 . The method of using an eyewash system of claim 1 wherein applying a single movement comprises applying a single pivoting movement without rotating the container about its longitudinal axis.
3 . The method of using an eyewash system of claim 1 wherein applying a single movement comprises applying a single linear movement.
4 . The method of using an eyewash system of claim 1 wherein the step of providing the base and the container comprises:
aligning a first aperture in a tab extending from the removable portion with a second aperture in a member extending from the base; inserting a pin through the second aperture and the first aperture.
5 . The method of using an eyewash system of claim 1 wherein the removable portion includes a tab extending therefrom, and the base includes a first member and a second member spaced apart from the first member, the first member and the second member extending from the base and spaced apart, the step of providing the base and the container comprises:
positioning the tab at least partially between the members aligning an aperture in the tab with an aperture in the first member and with an aperture in the second member; inserting a pin through the aperture in the first member, through the aperture in the tab, and through the aperture in the second member.
6 . The method of using an eyewash system of claim 1 further comprising coupling a cover to the base to at least partially cover a top portion of the container.
7 . A method of installing an eyewash system comprising:
providing a base and a container having a removable portion, the base comprises a first arm member and a second arm member spaced apart from the first member, the container having a removable portion and a tab extending from the removable portion; positioning the tab at least partially between the first arm member and the second arm member; aligning an aperture in the tab with an aperture in the first arm member and with an aperture in the second arm member; inserting a pin through the aperture in the first arm member, through the aperture in the tab, and through the aperture in the second arm member.
8 . The method of using an eyewash system of claim 1 further comprising coupling a cover to the base to at least partially cover a top portion of the container.
9 . An eyewash system comprising:
a base comprising at least one member; a container having a removable portion with a tab extending from the removable portion; wherein the removable portion is coupled to the at least one member by a retaining member extending through an aperture in the tab and an aperture in the at least one member; wherein the removable portion is separatable from the container to provide an opening in the container by a single movement of the container relative to the base.
10 . The eyewash system of claim 9 wherein the single movement is a single pivoting movement without rotating the container about its longitudinal axis.
11 . The eyewash system of claim 9 wherein the single movement is a linear movement.
12 . The eyewash system of claim 9 wherein the at least one member comprises a pair of members, each member comprising an aperture, wherein the container is coupled to the base by the tab being disposed between the pair of members and the retaining member inserted through the apertures in the pair of members and the aperture in the tab.
13 . The eyewash system of claim 9 wherein the retaining member comprises a pin, a detent, and a ring.
14 . The eyewash system of claim 9 further comprising a cap coupled to the container, wherein the removable portion is located on the cap.
15 . The eyewash system of claim 9 wherein the removable portion is located on a top of the container.
16 . The eyewash system of claim 15 wherein the removable portion is defined by a groove located on the top of the container.
17 . The eyewash system of claim 16 wherein the groove comprises a narrow portion and a wide portion so that a tear-drop shaped opening is formed when the removable portion is removed.Cited by (0)
