Abstract

A device for applying a product on a fingernail includes an applicator end-piece able to be loaded with product and to apply the product on the fingernail. The end-piece includes a notch formed between two facing application surfaces intended for the application of the product on two faces of the fingernail.

1 . A device for applying a product on a fingernail, comprising: 
 an applicator end-piece configured to retain the product on a surface thereof and to apply the product on the fingernail,    wherein the end-piece includes a notch formed between a first and second application surface, the first and second application surfaces are configured to face each other and apply the product to a first face and a second face of the fingernail.    
   
   
       2 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the application surfaces has a non-planar shape.  
   
   
       3 . The device according to  claim 2 , wherein one of the application surfaces has a concave shape and is configured to apply the product on a top of the fingernail, the concavity of the surface faces the notch.  
   
   
       4 . The device according to  claim 3 , wherein another of the application surfaces is convex, with its convexity facing the notch.  
   
   
       5 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein two tongues that extend on either side of the notch form the first and second application surfaces.  
   
   
       6 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein the length of each tongue is between about 3 and 10 mm.  
   
   
       7 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein the tongue configured to apply the product on a top of the fingernail has a greater length than the other tongue.  
   
   
       8 . The device according to  claim 7 , wherein the difference in length between the two tongues is less than about 7 mm.  
   
   
       9 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein the distance between each of an end portion of each tongue distant from the notch, is between about 1 and 6 mm.  
   
   
       10 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein the tongues form an angle between them of less than 180°.  
   
   
       11 . The device according to  claim 7 , wherein the length of the tongue used to apply the product to the top of the fingernail corresponds substantially to a length of the fingernail.  
   
   
       12 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein a width of the tongues corresponds substantially to a width of an edge of the fingernail.  
   
   
       13 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein an edge of the tongue that is configured to apply the product on an outside face of the fingernail has a concave shape complementary to that of an edge of the fingernail.  
   
   
       14 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein an edge of the tongue that is configured to apply the product on the outside face of the fingernail has a convex shape complementary to that of the base of the fingernail.  
   
   
       15 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein an edge of the tongue configured to apply the product on an inside face of the fingernail has a concave shape.  
   
   
       16 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the applicator end piece includes two substantially parallel longitudinal sides.  
   
   
       17 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the applicator end piece includes two non-parallel longitudinal sides.  
   
   
       18 . The device according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a rod having a first end; and    a grasping member,    wherein the first end of the rod is integral with the grasping member and an opposite second end of the rod is fitted with the applicator end-piece.    
   
   
       19 . The device according to  claim 18 , further comprising: 
 a storing receptacle configured to store the product and connectable with the applicator end-piece, wherein the grasping member is a closing cap to secure the product in the storing receptacle.    
   
   
       20 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein at least part of the applicator end-piece is formed of an elastically deformable material.  
   
   
       21 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein an application surface intended for the application of the product on a bottom of the fingernail is formed from a material more rigid than that of an application surface intended for the application of the product on the top of the fingernail.  
   
   
       22 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein at least a part of the end-piece is formed of elastomer.  
   
   
       23 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein at least part of the end-piece is formed from silicone.  
   
   
       24 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the application surfaces is abrasive.  
   
   
       25 . The device according to  claim 1 , wherein the notch forms a stop against which the end edge of the fingernail will contact.  
   
   
       26 . The device according to  claim 25 , wherein the notch is concave.  
   
   
       27 . The device according to  claim 5 , wherein the tongues form an angle between them of less than 50°.  
   
   
       28 . An assembly for storing a product and for application of the said product on a fingernail, comprising: 
 a reservoir configured to store the product; and    a device including an end-piece for applying the product,    wherein the end-piece includes two application surfaces with a notch formed there between, and wherein the two application surfaces are configured to apply product to two different surfaces of the fingernail.    
   
   
       29 . The assembly according to  claim 28 , wherein a first application surface has a concave shape and is configured to apply the product on a top of the fingernail, and a second of the application surfaces is convex and configured to apply the product to a bottom surface of the fingernail.  
   
   
       30 . The assembly according to  claim 29 , wherein the first application surface has a greater length than the second application surface.  
   
   
       31 . The assembly according to  claim 30 , wherein the length of each application surface is between about 3 and 10 mm.  
   
   
       32 . The assembly according to  claim 28 , wherein the first and second application surfaces form an angle between them of less than 50°.  
   
   
       33 . The assembly according to  claim 28 , further comprising: 
 a rod having a first end and a second end; and    a grasping member,    wherein the first end of the rod is integral with the grasping member and the applicator end-piece is secured to the second end of the rod.    
   
   
       34 . The assembly according to  claim 33 , wherein the grasping member is a closing cap connectable to the reservoir and configured to secure the product in the reservoir.  
   
   
       35 . The assembly according to  claim 29 , wherein the second an application surface is formed from a material more rigid than material of the first application surface.  
   
   
       36 . The assembly according to  claim 29 , wherein at least one of the application surfaces is abrasive.  
   
   
       37 . A method for applying a product on a fingernail using a device having an applicator end-piece able to be loaded with product and able to apply the product on the fingernail, the end-piece including a notch delimiting two facing application surfaces intended for the application of the product on two faces of the fingernail, the method comprising: 
 loading the two application surfaces with product; and    placing the application surfaces in contact with an outside face and with an inside face of the fingernail in order to apply the product on both faces simultaneously.    
   
   
       38 . The method according to  claim 37 , wherein the application surfaces are moved substantially transversely with respect to a principal axis of the fingernail.  
   
   
       39 . The method according to  claim 37 , wherein at least one of the application surfaces has a non-planar shape.  
   
   
       40 . The method according to  claim 37 , further comprising: 
 applying the product on a top surface of the fingernail with one of the application surfaces having a concave shape; and    applying the product to a bottom surface of the fingernail with the other application surface having a convex shape.    
   
   
       41 . The method according to  claim 40 , wherein the application surface configured to apply the product on a top of the fingernail has a greater length than the other application surface.  
   
   
       42 . The method according to  claim 40 , wherein the application surface configured to apply the product on a bottom of the fingernail is formed from a material more rigid than a material used to form the application surface configured to apply the product on the top of the fingernail.
