Reproduction Apparatus And Reproduction Method Of Digital Video Signal Or Audio Signal

Abstract

A reproduction method ad apparatus for reproducing video data and/or audio data from a medium dedicated to reproduction or recordable medium having video data and/or audio data recorded thereon, the video data and/or audio data being generated by superimposing information concerning an attribute of a video signal and/or an audio signal on a signal of digitized video data and/or a signal of digitized audio data. The information concerning an attribute superimposed on the video data and/or audio data from the medium is reproduced and a type of the medium is identified as a medium dedicated to reproduction or as a recordable medium. Reproduction is stopped in response to a determination that the medium is illegally produced, the determination being based on a combination of the information concerning the attribute which is reproduced and the type of the medium identified.

A reproduction method for reproducing video data and/or audio data from a medium dedicated to reproduction or recordable medium having video data and/or audio data recorded thereon, the video data and/or audio data being generated by superimposing information concerning an attribute of a video signal and/or an audio signal on a signal of digitized video data and/or a signal of digitized audio data, comprising the steps of: 
 reproducing the information concerning an attribute superimposed on the video data and/or audio data from the medium;    identifying a type of the medium as a medium dedicated to reproduction or as a recordable medium; and    stopping reproduction in response to a determination that the medium is illegally produced, the determination being based on a combination of the information concerning an attribute reproduced by reproducing step and the is type of the medium identified by the identifying step as the medium dedicated to reproduction, or being based on a combination of the information concerning an attribute reproduced by the reproducing step and the type of the medium identified by the identifying step as the recordable medium.

A reproduction method for reproducing video data and/or audio data from a medium dedicated to reproduction or a recordable medium having video data and/or audio data recorded thereon, the video data and/or audio data being generated by superimposing information concerning an attribute of a video signal and/or an audio signal on a signal of digitized video data and/or a signal of digitized audio data, comprising the steps of: 
 reproducing the information concerning an attribute superimposed on the video data and/or audio data from the medium;    identifying a type of the medium as a medium dedicated to reproduction or as a recordable medium; and    stopping reproduction in response to a determination that the medium is illegally produced, the determination being based on a presence of a conflict between the information concerning an attribute reproduced by the reproducing step and the type of the medium identified by the identifying step.

A reproduction apparatus for reproducing video data and/or audio data from a medium dedicated to reproduction or a recordable medium having video data and/or audio data recorded thereon, the video data and/or audio data being generated by superimposing information concerning an attribute of a video signal and/or an audio signal on a signal of digitized video data and/or a signal of digitized audio data, the reproduction apparatus comprising; 
 a reproducing circuit which reproduces the information concerning an attribute superimposed on the video data and/or audio data from the medium;    an identifying circuit which identifies a type of the medium as a medium dedicated to reproduction or as a recordable medium; and    a stopping circuit which stops reproduction in response to a determination that the medium is illegally produced, the determination being based on a presence of a conflict between the information concerning an attribute reproduced by reproducing circuit and the type of the medium identified by the identifying circuit.    
   
   
       4 . A reproduction apparatus according to  claim 3 , wherein the information concerning an attribute of a video signal and/or audio signal is superimposed on the digitized video signal and/or audio signal is watermarked information.
