A tooth whitening substance formed into a thin layer is provided. The tooth whitening substance includes a polyox resin and a tooth whitening active. The polyox resin adheres the thin layer to a plurality of teeth for a sufficient time to allow the tooth whitening active to act upon the plurality of teeth.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of bleaching a plurality of teeth, the teeth having facial, lingual, and incisal surfaces, comprising:
 a) adhesively attaching a tooth bleaching product comprising a barrier and a tooth bleaching composition to the facial and lingual surfaces of a plurality of teeth, wherein the tooth bleaching composition comprises a tooth bleaching agent, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, and water; b) conforming the tooth bleaching product to the facial and lingual surfaces of the plurality of teeth; c) repeating steps (a) and (b), wherein each repetition utilizes a fresh tooth bleaching product; and wherein the tooth bleaching product can be used without interfering with the wearer's speech, and wherein the tooth bleaching product has a thickness of less than about 1 mm.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching composition further comprises a second thickening agent.

3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the second thickening agent is selected from the group consisting of cellulose, carrageenan, veegum, natural gums, and mixtures thereof.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one thickening agent comprises xanthan gum and carrageenan.

5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the tooth bleaching composition further comprises a flavorant and a sweetening agent.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching composition further comprises a humectant selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerin, and sorbitol.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the amount of water is between about 0.1% and about 10% by weight of the tooth bleaching composition.

8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising peeling the tooth bleaching product from the plurality of teeth.

9 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the tooth bleaching composition further comprises a phosphate.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching product is substantially flat prior to use.

11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second thickening agent is carboxypolymethylene.

12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the amount of carboxypolymethylene is between about 0.1% and about 15% by weight of the tooth bleaching composition.

13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching composition further comprises a humectant in amount between about 50% and about 80% by weight of the tooth bleaching composition.

14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the pH of the tooth bleaching composition is between about 4.5 and about 5.5.

15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the tooth bleaching product further comprises one or more essential oils.
