Abstract
An adjustable stand for rotatably and releaseably supporting a flat panel display is disclosed together with a display device usable with the stand. The display includes a boss projecting from a rear surface thereof, which boss is received in an arc-shaped channel in a plate portion of the stand. The stand further includes two hingedly connected legs and selective locking devices for controlling the angle between the legs, thereby allowing the stand hold the display in a variety of orientations with respect to a horizontal support surface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 59 . (canceled)
60 . A panel display, comprising:
a panel display for operable association with a computer, said panel display including a housing having a front with a screen mounted thereon and a rear; an opening disposed on said rear and extending into said panel display to form a chamber, said opening having a first diameter and said chamber having a second diameter greater than said first diameter; a support stand operably associated with said panel display and having first and second hingedly connected legs, said first leg comprising a plate with a notch extending into a periphery of said plate; and at least one boss secured to and projecting from said plate, said boss having first and second portions, said first portion proximate said plate, and said second portion including a flange having a third diameter less than said first diameter, said flange removably received within said chamber for removably securing said panel display to said support stand.
61 . The panel display of claim 60 , wherein said plate includes first and second bosses, and said rear includes first and second openings for receiving said first and second bosses, respectively.
62 . The panel display of claim 60 , wherein said plate includes a hooked lower portion forming a cradle for removably receiving a lower end of said panel display.
63 . The panel display of claim 60 , wherein said boss has a T-shaped cross-section.
64 . A panel display assembly, comprising:
a panel display including a housing having a front side and a rear side and a screen mounted on said front side; a stand for supporting said display on a horizontal support surface, said stand including first and second legs pivotably connected together via a hinge and extending away from said hinge to contact the horizontal support surface; a bearing member mounted on one of said display and said stand; and a receiver mounted on the other one of said display and said stand for removably coupling said display and said stand together by receiving and supporting said bearing member, wherein a relative position of said first and second legs is adjustable for tilting said screen vertically or horizontally.
65 . The panel display assembly of claim 64 , wherein when an angle between said first and second legs is increased, the screen is tilted downward toward a horizontal position, and when the angle between said first and second legs is decreased, the screen is tilted upward toward a vertical position.
66 . The panel display assembly of claim 64 , wherein said display is rotatable with respect to said stand about a horizontal axis perpendicular to said screen.
67 . The panel display assembly of claim 64 , wherein said receiver includes an upward channel, and said bearing member is slidingly disposed in said upward channel.
68 . The panel display assembly of claim 64 , wherein:
said receiver comprises an opening disposed on said rear of said display and extending into said display to form a chamber, said opening having a first diameter and said chamber having a second diameter greater than said first diameter; and said bearing member comprises at least one boss secured to and projecting from said stand, said boss having first and second portions, said first portion proximate said stand, and said second portion including a flange having a third diameter less than said first diameter, said flange received within said chamber for removably securing said display to said stand.
69 . The panel display assembly of claim 64 , wherein said bearing member projects from the rear side of said display, and said receiver includes a bearing surface disposed on said stand for receiving said bearing member and for rotatably supporting said display.
70 . A panel display assembly, comprising:
a support stand having a bearing surface, first and second legs rotatably connected by a hinge for supporting said bearing surface, and at least one boss extending from said bearing surface; and a display having a housing with a front side and a rear side, a screen disposed on said front side and an opening formed in said rear side, said opening for receiving said at least one boss to removably couple said display to said support stand.
71 . The panel display assembly of claim 70 , wherein said opening includes a chamber in which said at least one boss is received and a first flange partially enclosing said chamber to prevent said at least one boss from disengaging said opening.
72 . The panel display assembly of claim 70 , wherein said at least one boss extends outwardly from said bearing surface along a first axis and includes a second flange, said second flange extending along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis for engaging said first flange.
73 . The panel display assembly of claim 70 , wherein said at least one boss includes first and second bosses, and said rear side includes first and second openings for receiving said first and second bosses, respectively.
74 . The panel display assembly of claim 70 , wherein said bearing surface includes a hooked lower portion forming a cradle for removably receiving a lower end of said display.
75 . The panel display assembly of claim 70 , wherein said boss has a T-shaped cross-section.
76 . A panel display assembly, comprising:
a panel display including a housing having a front side and a rear side and a screen disposed on said front side; a stand for supporting said display, said stand including first and second legs rotatably connected together via a hinge having a spring clutch; a bearing member mounted on one of said display and said stand; and a receiver mounted on the other one of said display and said stand for removably coupling said display and said stand together by receiving and supporting said bearing member.
77 . A panel display assembly, comprising:
a panel display including a housing having a front side and a rear side, a screen disposed on said front side, and a boss extending from said rear side and having a flange portion at a distal end thereof; a stand having a bearing surface for supporting the display on a horizontal supporting surface and a channel formed in said bearing surface, said channel having a closed end and an open end; and a hinge mechanism for tilting the bearing surface of the stand along with said display with respect to the horizontal supporting surface, wherein said display is slidably mountable on said stand by engaging said flange portion of said boss with said channel of said bearing surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
