Gaming display with moveable indicator and methods of use

Abstract

A gaming apparatus includes a display device that has a display surface. The display surface can be moved and has indicia mounted on the display surface. A guide track holds the display surface. The guide track guides the shape of the display surface. A display device actuator is in communication with the display surface and moves the display surface. A controller is in communication with the display device actuator. The controller is configured to position the display surface such that at least one of the indicia appearing on the display surface conveys a game outcome. Several game embodiments using a guide track are disclosed.

1 . A gaming apparatus comprising: 
 (A) a display device having a moveable band, the moveable band having an inner surface and an outer surface;    (B) a first set of rollers positioned adjacent to the inner surface for supporting the moveable band;    (C) a second set of rollers positioned adjacent to the outer surface for supporting the moveable band;    (D) an actuator coupled with the moveable band such that the actuator can move the moveable band; and    (E) a controller in communication with the actuator, the controller being configured to move the moveable band.    
     
     
         2 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the moveable band is woven between the first and second set of rollers.  
     
     
         3 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein a plurality of indicia are disposed on the moveable band.  
     
     
         4 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the actuator is coupled to the moveable band by a driven roller.  
     
     
         5 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the moveable band is at least partially transparent.  
     
     
         6 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein at least one light is mounted adjacent to the inner surface.  
     
     
         7 . A gaming apparatus comprising: 
 (A) display device means for displaying a plurality of indicia, the display device means having a first surface and a second surface;    (B) first roller means for urging the display devices means in a first direction;    (C) second roller means for urging the display devices means in a second direction;    (D) actuator means for moving the display device means, the actuator means being coupled with the display device means;    (E) controller means for controlling movement of the display device means, the controller means being in communication with the actuator means.    
     
     
         8 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein the first roller means is in contact with the first surface and the second roller means is in contact with the second surface.  
     
     
         9 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein the display devices means comprises a band.  
     
     
         10 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein the actuator means is coupled to the display device means by a driven roller.  
     
     
         11 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein a light is positioned adjacent to the second surface.  
     
     
         12 . A gaming apparatus comprising: 
 (A) a band having an outer display surface and an inner surface;    (B) a first set of rollers positioned adjacent to the inner surface for guiding the band;    (C) a second set of rollers positioned adjacent to the outer display surface for guiding the band;    (D) an actuator coupled with the band such that the actuator can move the band; and    (E) a controller in communication with the actuator, the controller being configured to: 
 (a) move the band; and  
 (b) stop the band.  
   
     
     
         13 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the outer display surface has a plurality of indicia.  
     
     
         14 . The gaming apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein the band is wound between the first and second sets of rollers.
