Claims

Abstract

Methods for processing venue-based data utilizing one or more hand held devices. Data can be received at hand held device through a wireless network, wherein the data includes one or more video streams of one or more visual perspectives acquired from an entertainment venue and wherein the data is acquired from at least one venue-based data source at the entertainment venue. The hand held device can be authorized to receive and process the data utilizing a security code. The data can be processed for display on a display screen associated with the hand held device. Video of the visual perspective(s) can be streamed via the display screen in response to a user selection of the visual perspective(s) from the data processed for display on the display screen, the user selection provided via a user interface associated with the hand held device.

1 . A method for receiving venue-based data at a hand held device, said method comprising: 
 receiving data at a hand held device through a wireless network, wherein said data includes at least one video stream of at least one visual perspective acquired from an entertainment venue and wherein said data is acquired from at least one venue-based data source at said entertainment venue;    authorizing said hand held device to receive and process said data utilizing a security code;    processing said data for display on a display screen associated with said hand held device; and    streaming video of said at least one visual perspective via said display screen in response to a user selection of said at least one visual perspective from said data processed for display on said display screen, said user selection provided via a user interface associated with said hand held device.    
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said at least one venue-based data source comprises at least one video camera.  
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2  wherein said at least one venue-based data source comprises a server.  
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein receiving data at a hand held device through a wireless network further comprises receiving said data through a wireless gateway associated with said wireless network.  
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein receiving data at said hand held device through a wireless network, further comprises: receiving through at least one wireless receiver at said hand held device, said data transmitted from said at least one venue-based data source.  
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising: acquiring said security code from a computer.  
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising acquiring said security code wirelessly from a computing device.  
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 7  wherein acquiring said security code wirelessly from said computing device further comprises: acquiring said security code using a wireless transceiver.  
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising acquiring said security code from a kiosk located at said entertainment venue.  
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising storing said security code in a said security unit associated with said hand held device.  
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising storing said security code in a memory associated with said hand held device.  
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said data includes instant replay video from said at least one video perspective.  
     
     
         13 . The method of claim wherein said data further comprises audio information.  
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said data further comprises promotional and advertising information.  
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said data further comprises team information.  
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said data further comprises venue information.  
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a football stadium.  
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a soccer stadium.  
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a boxing arena.  
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a wrestling arena.  
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a car racing stadium.  
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a horse racing stadium  
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a golf course.  
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a concert hall.  
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said entertainment venue comprises a casino.  
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said data further comprises a television broadcast.  
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said data further comprises statistics.

         33 . The method of  claim 32  further comprising accessing selected data among said data stored in said memory for transmission to a DRD (Data Rendering Device).  
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising: renting said hand device to a user of said hand held device in exchange for a fee.  
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 1  further comprising: 
 utilizing said hand held device to order a product or service offered by said entertainment venue during a venue event at said entertainment venue.    
     
     
         36 . The method of  claim 35  further comprising: 
 determining a location of said hand held device within said entertainment venue.    
     
     
         37 . The method of  claim 36  further comprising: 
 delivering said product or service to a user associated with said hand held device based on said location of said hand held device.    
     
     
         38 . The method of  claim 1  wherein said security code comprises a temporary code which permits a user of said hand held device to access said data via said hand held device.  
     
     
         39 . The method of  claim 38  further comprising permitting said user to receive and utilize said temporary code in exchange for a fee.  
     
     
         40 . A method for wirelessly receiving venue-based data at a hand held device, said method comprising: 
 providing a security code to said hand held device for authorizing access to said venue-based data by said hand held device;    wirelessly receiving venue-based data at a hand held device, said venue-based data comprising streaming video including at least one video perspective captured by at least one video camera located within an entertainment venue;    authorizing said hand held device to receive and process said venue-based data utilizing said security code;    processing said venue-based data for display as video of the said at least one video perspective on a display screen associated with said hand held device;    displaying said venue-based data on said display screen; and    enabling a user of said hand held device to view and manipulate said venue-based data through a user interface associated with said hand held device.    
     
     
         41 . The method of  claim 40  wherein said entertainment venue includes at least one of a: football stadium, soccer stadium, boxing arena, wrestling arena, car racing stadium, horse racing stadium, golf course, concert hall, casino.  
     
     
         42 . A method for receiving at least one visual perspective of a venue-based activity at a hand held device, said method comprising the steps of: 
 wirelessly receiving data at a hand held device, said data including more than one visual perspective of a venue-based activity in a form of streaming video transmitted from at least one venue-based data source located at an entertainment venue;    authorizing said hand held device to receive and process said venue-based data utilizing a security code;    processing said more than one visual perspective for display as streaming video on a display screen associated with said hand held device; and    displaying a single visual perspective on said display screen in response to a user selection of said single visual perspective from among a plurality of visual perspectives available for viewing through said display screen, said user selection input via a user interface associated with said hand held device.    
     
     
         43 . The method of  claim 42  wherein said entertainment venue includes at least one of a: football stadium, soccer stadium, boxing arena, wrestling arena, car racing stadium, horse racing stadium, golf course, concert hall, casino.
