System and method for administering learning session over a network
Abstract
This invention is a computer based system for the assessment, management and instruction of students, and for the delivery of work pages and other instructional materials in the form of electronic student workbooks. The computer based assessment of the student produces a student profile including skill gaps or learning objectives. Teacher ( 20 ) and student ( 22 ) workstations are networked CPUs with pen-based tablet inputs, and displays network with a central processor ( 10 ) and data base. A director workstation may also be networked with the central processor. The central processor generates a teacher workbook either directly or with input from the director workstation. The teacher, or teacher and director together, assemble an electronic student workbook containing instructional materials correlated with the student profile. The system tracks useful data such as instructional material (e.g., textbook pages, work sheets, software, simulations, tests, etc.) delivered to students.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 39 . (canceled)
40 . A system for administering learning sessions over a network, comprising:
a plurality of student work stations that presents instructional materials to students via a plurality of student workbooks that are generated on the plurality of workstations based on a plurality of student profiles, wherein each student profiles specifies a learning objective associated with a student, and wherein each student workbook has a graphical interface for the student to interface with the instructional material; a plurality of teacher workstations that select instructional materials correlated with student objectives of assigned students to teachers at the plurality of teacher workstations and forward the selected instructional materials to the student workstations via a plurality of teacher workbooks generated using the student profiles of the assigned students to teachers at such teacher workstations, and a director workstation used by a director that control features accessible by the plurality of teacher workstations, analyzing student related information to amend the student profiles, said student related information comprising at least one of grades, demographics characteristics or time on task information.
41 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the director workbook is used to assign instructional material to the students.
42 . The system of claim 40 , wherein a student profile is changed based on input from the director.
43 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the teacher workbook has a section for storing teacher notes; and wherein a director workbook generated on the director workstation allows the director to view the teacher notes.
44 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the director workstation allows the director to enter a director note in the teacher workbook.
45 . The system of claim 44 , wherein the teacher acknowledges the director notes before proceeding to instruct the student.
46 . The system of claim 40 , wherein a note exchanged between the teacher and director are linked in a database.
47 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the director workstation is used to define User ID/Password that control features accessible by the student or teacher.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
