Weighted sleeve

Abstract

A weighted sleeve includes an inner portion to be disposed on a limb along a first direction and having first and second sides, an outer portion having first and second sides corresponding to the first and second sides of the inner portion, respectively, at least two pockets disposed on the outer portion extending along the first direction in between the first and second sides, at least one fastening part to fasten the first and second sides together around the limb, and a weight member having a plurality of beads and a lining to contain the beads, the weight member being slidably insertable and removable from the at least two pockets.

1 . A weighted sleeve, comprising:
 an inner fleece portion to be positioned on a limb;   an outer portion opposite the inner fleece portion and being made of a stretchable polyester blended material;   at least two elongated pockets disposed on the outer portion extending along a first direction of the outer portion each having a closed end and an open end opposite the closed end with a first VELCRO coupling portion disposed thereon above the open end;   at least two closing flaps attached to the outer portion and disposed at the open ends of the at least two elongated pockets to close the open ends thereof and each having a second VELCRO coupling portion to attach to the first VELCRO coupling portion when the closing flap folds over the open end of the respective elongated pocket to close the elongated pocket;   at least one weight member removably disposed in at least one of the elongated pockets, the weight member including a lining containing a plurality of metallic beads disposed therein;   a first elongated VELCRO receiving pad disposed at a first side of the outer portion and adjacent to a perimeter thereof and extending along the first direction of the outer portion;   a second plurality of VELCRO receiving pads disposed on the outer portion between the first elongated VELCRO receiving pad and the at least two elongated pockets;   a first elongated VELCRO hooking pad disposed at a second side of the inner portion opposite to the first side to correspond to the first elongated VELCRO receiving pad and extending along the first direction adjacent to a perimeter of the inner portion; and   a plurality of straps disposed at the second side of the outer portion to correspond to the second plurality of VELCRO receiving pads and adjacent to the at least two elongated pockets, each of the straps including a first end attached to the outer portion adjacent to the at least two elongated pockets, a second end having a second VELCRO hooking pad, and an elastic band disposed between the first and second ends such that the second VELCRO hooking pads of the plurality of the straps are removably couplable to the first elongated VELCRO receiving pad and/or the second plurality of VELCRO receiving pads when the first and second sides of the outer portion are moved toward one another around the inner portion.   
   
   
       2 . A weighted sleeve usable on an arm or a leg, comprising:
 a main portion having a predetermined weight, the main portion including a first side and a second side disposed opposite to the first side of the sleeve; and   a two part fastening system, including:
 a first VELCRO fastening portion disposed along first and second sides of the main portion and extending in a length direction of the sleeve, and 
 a second plurality of VELCRO fastening portions disposed along the first VELCRO fastening portion and extending in a width direction of the sleeve. 
   
   
   
       3 . A weighted sleeve, comprising:
 an inner portion disposable a human limb along a first direction and having first and second sides;   an outer portion having first and second sides corresponding to the first and second sides of the inner portion, respectively;   at least two pockets disposed on the outer portion extending along the first direction between the first and second sides, each of the at least two pockets including a closed end, an open end opposite from the closed end, a first VELCRO portion disposed on a top portion thereof adjacent to the open end, a closing flap attached to the outer portion adjacent to the open end and having a second VELCRO portion to be removably coupled to the first VELCRO portion to open and close the pocket;   at least one fastening part to fasten the first and second sides together around the limb; and   a weight member having a plurality of beads and a lining to contain the beads, the weight member being slidably insertable and removable from the at least two pockets.   
   
   
       4 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the weight member is self contained and has an adjustable shape. 
   
   
       5 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the weight member includes one or more stitching portions extending along the lining. 
   
   
       6 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the inner portion comprises a hypoallergenic fleece material. 
   
   
       7 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the outer portion comprises a stretchable polyester blended material. 
   
   
       8 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the at least two pockets are at least two elongated pockets arranged in a continuous arrangement with respect to a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction. 
   
   
       9 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the at least two pockets share a common boundary line that extends along the first direction. 
   
   
       10 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the at least one fastening part comprises:
 a first fastening arrangement disposed along the first side of the outer portion and the second side of the inner portion in the first direction; and   a second fastening arrangement extending from the second side of the outer portion toward the first side of the outer portion in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction.   
   
   
       11 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 3 , wherein the at least one fastening part comprises:
 a first elongated VELCRO receiving pad disposed on the first side of the outer portion extending along the first direction;   a second elongated VELCRO hooking pad disposed on the second side of the inner portion extending along the first direction to be removably coupled to the first elongated VELCRO receiving pad when the first and second sides are moved together;   a first plurality of VELCRO receiving pads disposed on the outer portion between the first elongated VELCRO receiving pad and the at least two pockets; and   a plurality of straps disposed on the second side of the outer portion and extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, each of the straps including
 a first end attached to the outer portion adjacent to the at least two pockets, 
 a second end having a second VELCRO hooking pad thereon to be coupled to a respective one of the first VELCRO receiving pads, and 
 an elastic band to connect the first and second ends and being stretchable with respect to the outer portion. 
   
   
   
       12 . A weighted sleeve, comprising:
 a main portion to be disposed on a human limb along a first direction;   at least two pockets disposed on the main portion and extending along the first direction and being arranged continuously along a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction;   at least one weight member insertably disposed in the at least two pockets;   a first VELCRO fastening arrangement disposed along a length of the main portion in the first direction; and   a second VELCRO fastening arrangement disposed along the length of the main portion and having a plurality of elastic VELCRO coupling straps extending along a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction.   
   
   
       13 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 12 , wherein the at least one weight member comprises a self contained packet of metallic beads. 
   
   
       14 . The weighted sleeve of  claim 12 , wherein each of the at least two pockets comprise:
 a closed end;   an open end opposite from the closed end;   a first VELCRO portion disposed on a top portion thereof adjacent to the open end; and   a closing flap attached to the main portion adjacent to the open end and having a second VELCRO portion to be removably coupled to the first VELCRO portion.
