Abstract
A grab bar mounting system includes a bar mount, a grab bar coupled to the bar mount, and a mount anchor including a mount plate coupled to a wall. The mount anchor is configured to inhibit movement of the bar mount relative to the wall.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A grab bar mounting system comprising
a bar mount including an anchor pin receiver, a grab bar coupled to the bar mount, and anchor means for mounting the bar mount on a wall and including an anchor pin cooperating with the anchor pin receiver to limit movement of the bar mount relative to the wall when the anchor means is mounted to the wall.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the anchor means includes a mount plate to be mounted to the wall and the anchor pin extends from the mount plate into the anchor pin receiver.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the bar mount includes a base and a sleeve coupled to the base, the sleeve receives a portion of the grab bar, and the base receives and covers the anchor means.
4 . The system of claim 3 , further comprising a first set screw extending through a first threaded aperture in the sleeve and engaging a portion of the anchor means and a second set screw extending through a second threaded aperture in the sleeve and engaging a portion of the grab bar.
5 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the mount plate includes apertures positioned to lie around a circumference of the mount plate to receive fasteners to mount the mount plate to a wall stud.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein two of the apertures cooperate to form a vertical axis and are arranged such that two fasteners can be secured in the wall stud through the apertures.
7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the anchor pin includes a notch formed on a distal end of the anchor pin.
8 . A grab bar mounting system comprising
a bar mount formed to include an anchor pin receiver, a grab bar coupled to the bar mount, a mount anchor including a mount plate coupled to a wall stud and an anchor pin having a shaft formed to include a notch, the shaft extending from the mount plate into the anchor pin receiver, and a first set screw extending through the bar mount into the notch formed in the anchor pin shaft.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the bar mount includes a base and a sleeve coupled to the base, the sleeve receives a portion of the grab bar, and the base receives and covers the mount anchor.
10 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising a second set screw and wherein the second set screw extends through a second threaded aperture in the sleeve and engages a portion of the grab bar.
11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the notch is formed on a distal end of the anchor pin.
12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the mount plate includes apertures positioned to lie around a circumference of the mount plate to receive fasteners to mount the mount plate to a wall stud.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein two of the apertures cooperate to form a vertical axis and are arranged such that two fasteners can be secured in the wall stud through the apertures.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the mount plate and the anchor pin are monolithic.
15 . A grab bar mounting system comprising
a bar mount including a sleeve and a base coupled to the sleeve, the base includes an anchor pin receiver, a grab bar extending into the sleeve, a mount anchor including a mount plate coupled to a wall stud and an anchor pin having a shaft formed to include a notch, the shaft extending from the mount plate into the anchor pin receiver, and a first set screw extending through the base to engage the anchor pin notch, and a second set screw extending through the sleeve to engage the grab bar.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the notch is formed on a distal end of the anchor pin.
17 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the second set screw extends through a second threaded aperture in the sleeve and engages a portion of the grab bar.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the mount plate includes apertures positioned to lie around a circumference of the mount plate to receive fasteners to mount the mount plate to the wall.
19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein two of the apertures cooperate to form a vertical axis and are arranged such that two fasteners can be secured in the wall stud through the apertures.
20 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the mount plate and anchor pin are monolithic.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
