Abstract

An article comprising the compound of Formula (I): wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic functionality having 1 to 12 carbons, an aromatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons, and a cycloaliphatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons; R 2 and R 3 are independently selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, an aliphatic functionality having 1 to 12 carbons, an aromatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons, and a cycloaliphatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons; Y is either an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; “n” has a value of 0 to 4; and “m” has a value of 0 to 3.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic functionality having 1 to 12 carbons, an aromatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons, and a cycloaliphatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons; R 2 and R 3 are independently selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom, an aliphatic functionality having 1 to 12 carbons, an aromatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons, and a cycloaliphatic functionality having 3 to 20 carbons; Y is either an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; “n” has a value of 0 to 4; and “m” has a value of 0 to 3.

2 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the article comprises polycarbonate and from about 1×10 −7 percent by weight to about 10 percent by weight of the compound of Formula (I) based on the weight of the polymer.

3 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula (I) has a Stokes shift of greater that about 50 nanometers.

4 . The article of claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula (I) comprises a compound selected from the group consisting of Formula (II), Formula (III), Formula (IV), Formula (V), Formula (VI), Formula (VII), Formula (VIII), Formula (IX), and Formula (X):

5 . The article of claim 4 , wherein the article comprises a compound of Formula (II):

6 . The article of claim 4 , wherein the article comprises a compound of Formula (III):

7 . The article of claim 4 , wherein the article comprises a compound of Formula (VI):

8 . The article of claim 4 , wherein the article comprises a compound of Formula (VII):
