Aminopterin dosage forms

Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention provide dosage forms and methods for treating a patient with an inflammatory disorder with a therapeutically effective amount of aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, that achieve efficacy without concomitant toxicity. Within certain embodiments, the present invention provides a method for treating an inflammatory disorder in a patient with uninterrupted doses of aminopterin.

         21 . A pharmaceutical composition dose for a human comprising between about 0.1 mg and about less than 0.5 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         22 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is a tablet.  
     
     
         23 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 22 , wherein the tablet contains 0.1 mg to 0.4 mg aminopterin.  
     
     
         24 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 22 , wherein the tablet contains 0.25 aminopterin.  
     
     
         25 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the aminopterin has a purity greater than about 95%.  
     
     
         32 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.1 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         33 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.15 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         34 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.20 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         35 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.25 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         36 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.3 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         37 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.35 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.  
     
     
         38 . The pharmaceutical composition of  claim 21 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises 0.4 mg aminopterin, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
