Method for Making an Interior Ventricular Patch
Abstract
A method for making an inferior ventricular patch includes the steps of providing a piece of sheet material having a central area and a circumferential area surrounding the central area, the sheet material made of at least one of pericardium, dacron, fascia, and a mammalium tissue; providing a ring with a vacant center, the ring made of at least one of plastic material, fascia, pericardium, and an autogenous tissue; and attaching the ring directly to the sheet material whereby the ring includes a triangular shape and defines a triangular central area of the sheet material inwardly of the ring and the circumferential area of the sheet material outwardly of the ring, and the ring extends continuously between the triangular central area of the sheet material and the circumferential area of the sheet material.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for making an inferior ventricular patch, including the steps of:
providing a piece of sheet material having a central area and a circumferential area surrounding the central area, the sheet material made of at least one of pericardium, dacron, fascia, and a mammalium tissue; stretching the sheet material on a die having a predetermined shape to provide at least one of a planar configuration and a conical configuration; providing a ring with a vacant center, the ring made of at least one of plastic material, fascia, pericardium, and an autogenous tissue; attaching the ring directly to the sheet material whereby the ring includes a triangular shape and defines a triangular central area of the sheet material inwardly of the ring and the circumferential area of the sheet material outwardly of the ring, and the ring extends continuously between the triangular central area of the sheet material and the circumferential area of the sheet material.
2 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein providing a ring includes the step of providing the ring with compliant characteristics.
3 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein the sheet material and the ring have a triangular shape.
4 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein the shape of the ring is geometrically similar to that of the sheet material.
5 . The method recited in claim 4 , wherein the circumferential area has a generally constant width around the triangular central area.
6 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein the triangular central area includes a 2×3×1 triangular side ratio.
7 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein the triangular central area includes a 3×4×1 triangular side ratio.
8 . The method recited in claim 1 , wherein the circumferential area includes a width between 1 and 2 cm.
9 . A method for making an inferior ventricular patch, including the steps of:
providing a piece of sheet material having a central area and a circumferential area surrounding the central area, the sheet material made of at least one of pericardium, dacron, fascia, and a mammalium tissue; providing a ring with a vacant center, the ring made of at least one of plastic material, fascia, pericardium, and an autogenous tissue; attaching the ring directly to the sheet material whereby the ring includes a triangular shape and defines a triangular central area of the sheet material inwardly of the ring and the circumferential area of the sheet material outwardly of the ring, and the ring extends continuously between the triangular central area of the sheet material and the circumferential area of the sheet material.
10 . The method recited in claim 9 , wherein providing a ring includes the step of providing the ring with compliant characteristics.
11 . The method recited in claim 9 , wherein the sheet material and the ring have a triangular shape.
12 . The method recited in claim 9 , wherein the shape of the ring is geometrically similar to that of the sheet material.
13 . The method recited in claim 12 , wherein the circumferential area has a generally constant width around the triangular central area.
14 . The method recited in claim 9 , wherein the triangular central area includes a 2×3×1 triangular side ratio.
15 . The method recited in claim 9 , wherein the triangular central area includes a 3×4×1 triangular side ratio.
16 . The method recited in claim 9 , wherein the circumferential area includes a width between 1 and 2 cm.Cited by (0)
