Abstract
A retainer configured for attachment to objects and for carrying personal appliances such as, but not limited to, a cell phone or a music player. The retainer comprising two members held together in substantially parallel relationship by a unshaped joiner at one end and by a ramp attached to the interior side of one of the members toward the other end. The ramp has exterior and interior slopes converging at the top and forming a compressible male form for fitment into a corresponding female form. The ramp allows ingress and egress of the retainer onto objects that separate the members as the retainer is pushed on and pushed off the object.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A retainer comprising:
a joiner section arranging at least two members in a substantially face to face arrangement; at least one ramp comprising an exterior leg further comprising an exterior slope and an interior leg further comprising an interior slope, wherein said legs are spaced apart and converge at their respective tops defining a male form configured for insertion into a female fonn formed in the opposite member, whereby said male form is configured to fit into said female fonn by said at least one of said legs and male form capable of moving from its normally biased position; an aperture defined by said joiner, interior of said members and said interior slope of said ramp for holding an article therein; wherein at least one of said joiner and said members further comprise resilient properties configured to allow a force applied through said retainer to move said retainer in the direction of an object and temporarily separate said members as the object moves along said exterior slope toward said aperture in the ingress; and to allow a second force applied through said retainer to move said retainer in the direction away from said object and temporarily separate said members as the object moves along said interior slope away from said aperture in the egress.
2 . The device of claim 1 further comprising a male circumference defined by said male form and a female circumference defined by said female form, wherein said male circumference, when disengaged from said female form, is equal to or greater than said female circumference; and wherein said male circumference is configured to conform to a dimension equal to or less than said female circumference as said male form is inserted into said female form.
3 . The device of claim 1 further comprising a male circumference defined by said male form and a first female circumference defined by said female form, wherein said male circumference, when disengaged from said female form, is equal to or greater than said first female circumference; wherein said male form is configured to conform against its said normal bias to a dimension equal to or less than said first female circumference as said male form is inserted into said female form; and a second female circumference greater than said first female circumference, defined by said female form, wherein said male circumference is configured to conform in the direction of normal bias of said male form by expanding in said female form and conforming to said second female circumference after passing through said first female circumference.
4 . The device of claim 1 wherein at least one of said male form and said at least one leg are comprised to have a first and second male circumferences, wherein said first male circumference is greater than or equal to said second male circumference; and said female form configured to engage with said male form and further comprising an entry with at least one of a first female circumference and second female circumference, wherein said first female circumference is smaller than or equal to said second female circumference and said first male circumference.
5 . The device of claim 1 further comprising a carrying means coupled to said retainer for transporting at least one device therein.
6 . The device of claim 5 further comprising an attachment means configured to couple said carrying means with said retainer.
7 . The device of claim 6 wherein said attachment means comprises a ratchet mechanism configured to allow the user to move said carrying means with respect to said retainer along at least one axis of movement.
8 . The device of claim 1 wherein said male form is configured in a spherical form.
9 . The device of claim 1 wherein said device is free of metal content.
10 . A retainer comprising:
a joiner means for arranging at least two members means in a substantially face to face arrangement; at least one ramp means comprising an exterior leg means further comprising an exterior slope means and an interior leg means further comprising an interior slope means, wherein said interior leg means and exterior leg means are spaced apart and converge at their respective top means defining a male form means configured for insertion into a female form means formed in the opposite member means, whereby said male form means is configured for fitting into said female form means by said at least one of said leg means and male form means capable of moving from its normally biased position; an aperture means defined by said joiner means, interior of said member means and said interior slope means of said ramp means for holding an article therein; wherein at least one of said joiner means and said member means further comprise resilient properties configured to allow a force applied through said retainer to move said retainer in the direction of an object and temporarily separate said member means as the object moves along said exterior slope means toward said aperture means in the ingress; and to allow a second force applied through said retainer to move said retainer in the direction away from said object and temporarily separate said member means as the object moves along said interior slope means away from said aperture means in the egress.
11 . The device of claim 10 further comprising a male circumference defined by said male form means and a female circumference defined by said female form means, wherein said male circumference, when disengaged from said female form means, is equal to or greater than said female circumference; and wherein said male circumference is configured to conform to a dimension equal to or less than said female circumference as said male form means is inserted into said female form means.
12 . The device of claim 10 further comprising a male circumference defined by said male form means and a first female circumference defined by said female form means, wherein said male circumference, when disengaged from said female form means, is equal to or greater than said first female circumference; wherein said male form means is configured to conform against its said normal bias to a dimension equal to or less than said first female circumference as said male form means is inserted into said female form means; and a second female circumference is greater than said first female circumference, defined by said female form means, wherein said male circumference is configured to conform in the direction of normal bias of said male fonn means by expanding in said female fonn means and conforming to said second female circumference after passing through said first female circumference.
13 . The device of claim 10 wherein at least one of said male form means and said at least one leg means are comprised to have a first and second male circumferences, wherein said first male circumference is greater than or equal to said second male circumference; and said female form means configured to engage with said male form means and further comprising an entry means with at least one of a first female circumference and second female circumference, wherein said first female circumference is smaller than or equal to said second female circumference and said first male circumference.
14 . The device of claim 10 further comprising a carrying means coupled to said retainer for transporting at least one device therein.
15 . The device of claim 14 further comprising an attachment means configured for coupling said carrying means with said retainer.
16 . The device of claim 15 wherein said attachment means comprises a ratchet mechanism means configured for allowing the user to move said carrying means with respect to said retainer along at least one axis of movement.
17 . The device of claim 10 wherein said male form means is configured in a spherical form.
18 . The device of claim 10 wherein said device is free of metal content.Cited by (0)
