Abstract

The invention provides isolated nucleic acids molecules, designated 27875, 22025, 27420, 16319, 55092 and 10218 nucleic acid molecules. The invention also provides antisense nucleic acid molecules, recombinant expression vectors containing 27875, 22025, 27420, 16319, 55092 and 10218 nucleic acid molecules, host cells into which the expression vectors have been introduced, and nonhuman transgenic animals in which a 27875, 22025, 27420, 16319, 55092 and 10218 gene has been introduced or disrupted. The invention still further provides isolated 27875, 22025, 27420, 17906, 16319, 55092 or 10218 proteins, fusion proteins, antigenic peptides and anti-27875, 22025, 27420, 17906, 16319, 55092 or 10218 antibodies. Diagnostic and therapeutic methods utilizing compositions of the invention are also provided.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for identifying a compound which binds to a fragment of a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:8, wherein the fragment comprises at least 448 contiguous amino acids of SEQ ID NO:8;
 the method comprising:
 i) contacting the polypeptide or a cell expressing the polypeptide with a test compound under conditions suitable for binding; and
 ii) detecting binding of the test compound to the polypeptide.

         2 . A method for identifying a compound which binds to a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence which is at least 98% identical to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:8;
 the method comprising:
 iii) contacting the polypeptide or a cell expressing the polypeptide with a test compound under conditions suitable for binding; and
 iv) detecting binding of the test compound to the polypeptide.

         3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the detection is by direct binding.

         4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the direct binding is determined by immunoprecipitation.

         5 . The method of claims 2 , wherein the direct binding is determined by yeast two-hybrid assay.

         6 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the detection is by use of a competition binding assay.

         7 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the cell is a tumor cell.

         8 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the detection is by use of an assay for activity of the polypeptide.

         9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the activity is selected from the group consisting of: cellular growth, cellular proliferation, transcriptional activation, and methylation of a substrate.
