Abstract

There are disclosed novel polypeptides referred to as Pellino polypeptides, as well as fragments thereof, including immunogenic peptides. DNAs encoding such polypeptides as well as methods of using such DNAs and polypeptides are also disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An inhibitory nucleic acid that is 17 to 30 nucleotides in length and is complementary to a target nucleotide sequence and/or its complement, wherein the target nucleotide sequence is selected from the group consisting of:
 (a) SEQ ID NO:7;   (b) a nucleotide sequence encoding SEQ ID NO:8;   (c) SEQ ID NO:11;   (d) a nucleotide sequence encoding SEQ ID NO:12; and   (e) a nucleotide sequence that is at least 90% identical to (a)-(d);
       wherein the presence of said inhibitory nucleic acid within a cell reduces the expression and/or function of said target nucleotide sequence.

         2 . The inhibitory nucleic acid of claim 1 , wherein said inhibitory nucleic acid is an antisense oligonucleotide.

         3 . The inhibitory nucleic acid of claim Z wherein said inhibitory nucleic acid is an RNA molecule.

         4 . A vector comprising the nucleotide sequence of the inhibitory nucleic acid of claim 2 .

         5 . A composition comprising the inhibitory nucleic acid of claim 2 and a physiologically acceptable diluent, carrier, or excipient.

         6 . A double-stranded inhibitory nucleic acid formed of nucleic acid strands that are 17 to 30 nucleotides in length, wherein said inhibitory nucleic acid is complementary to a target nucleotide sequence and/or its complement, wherein the target nucleotide sequence is selected from the group consisting of:
 (a) SEQ ID NO:7;   (b) a nucleotide sequence encoding SEQ ID NO:8;   (c) SEQ ID NO:11;   (d) a nucleotide sequence encoding SEQ ID NO:12; and   (e) a nucleotide sequence that is at least 90% identical to (a)-(d);
       wherein the presence of said inhibitory nucleic acid within a cell reduces the expression and/or function of said target nucleotide sequence.

         7 . The inhibitory nucleic acid of claim 6 , wherein said inhibitory nucleic acid is an RNA molecule.

         8 . The RNA molecule of claim 7 , wherein said RNA molecule is formed of RNA strands 19 to 23 nucleotides in length.

         9 . A vector comprising the nucleotide sequence of the inhibitory nucleic acid of claim 6 .

         10 . A composition comprising the inhibitory nucleic acid of claim 6 and a physiologically acceptable diluent, carrier, or excipient.
