Golf club separator with fluted feature

Abstract

The invention teaches an apparatus and method for using an apparatus that protects golf clubs carried in an angled presentation type golf bag from contact with other golf clubs. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

1 . An apparatus for protecting golf clubs carried in an angled presentation type golf bag from contact with other golf clubs, comprising:
 a fascia having a width of at least the diameter of a conventional golf club shaft and a length substantially less than the length of a conventional golf club iron; and   a first and second side wall coupled to either side of said fascia and extending the length thereof forming a channel with an open side area for receiving the shaft of a golf club, said channel for securing said golf club shaft that is urged by gravity against said fascia.   
   
   
       2 . The apparatus  claim 1  further including a magnetic portion coupled with said fascia for providing an attractive force with magnetic materials associated with said golf club shank. 
   
   
       3 . The apparatus of  claim 1  further including a mounting rail having a predetermined shape and having a means for coupling to said golf bag, wherein said fascia and said first and second side walls are adapted with a connecting area which corresponds with said predefined shape for removably securing to said mounting rail. 
   
   
       4 . The apparatus of  claim 3  further including a magnetic portion coupled with said mounting rail in an arrangement which exposes said magnetic portion to said channel for providing an attractive force with magnetic materials associated with said golf club. 
   
   
       5 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein said mounting rail is made from a magnetic material, said fascia includes an opening which enables said magnetic material to be exposes to said channel. 
   
   
       6 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein one end of said fascia, said first side wall and said second side wall forming an end of said open side channel are beveled. 
   
   
       7 . The apparatus of  claim 1  wherein the a coupling device is integrated with at least one of said fascia and said first and second side walls adapted for coupling with said golf bag. 
   
   
       8 . The apparatus of  claim 1  further including a golf club head retention surface coupled at one end of said channel and having an angular orientation adapted for receiving the striking face of a golf club. 
   
   
       9 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein said channel is of a size sufficiently large to receive the shaft of a conventional golf club while small enough to not accept a conventional golf club head. 
   
   
       10 . A system for protecting golf clubs carried in an angled presentation arrangement from contact with other clubs, comprising:
 a golf bag for carrying said golf clubs; and   a separator coupled with said golf bag, said separator comprising;
 a fascia having a width of at least the diameter of a conventional golf club shaft and a length substantially less than the length of a conventional golf club iron; and 
 a first and second side wall coupled to either side of said fascia and extending the length thereof forming a channel with an open side area for receiving the shaft of a golf club, said channel for securing said golf club shaft that is urged by gravity against said fascia. 
   
   
   
       11 . The system of  claim 10  further including a coupling device adapted for coupling said separator to an inner portion of said golf bag. 
   
   
       12 . The system of  claim 10  further including a magnetic portion coupled with said fascia for providing an attractive force with magnetic materials associated with said golf club shank. 
   
   
       13 . The system of  claim 10  further including a mounting rail having a predetermined shape and having a means for coupling to said golf bag, wherein said separator is adapted with a connecting area which corresponds with said predefined shape for removably securing to said mounting rail. 
   
   
       14 . The system of  claim 13  further including a magnetic portion coupled with said mounting rail in an arrangement which exposes said magnetic portion to said channel for providing an attractive force with magnetic materials associated with said golf club shaft. 
   
   
       15 . The system of  claim 13 , wherein said mounting rail is made from a magnetic material, said fascia includes an opening which enables said magnetic material to be exposes to said channel. 
   
   
       16 . The system of  claim 13  further including a plurality of separators, wherein said mounting rail has a length to accommodate all of said plurality of separators. 
   
   
       17 . The system of  claim 10  further including a golf club head retention surface coupled at one end of said channel and having an angular orientation associated with the loft of a golf club face for receiving the striking face of a golf club. 
   
   
       18 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said channel is of a size sufficiently large to receive the shaft of a conventional golf club while small enough to not accept a conventional golf club head. 
   
   
       19 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the ends of said fascia, said first side wall and said second side wall forming the ends of said open side channel are beveled. 
   
   
       20 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein said golf bag is an angle presentation type golf bag.
