Water-dispersible agrochemical compositions

Abstract

The invention relates to novel compositions of biologically active agents containing less than 50% by weight of a low use rate agrochemical active and a dispersing agent, which exhibit enhanced bio-availability on dilution and application in water.

         50 . A method for making a composition to treat a plant or a locus of the plant, the method comprising the steps of:
 selecting a primary agrochemical active ingredient from metsulfuron-methyl, nicosulfaron, rimsulfuron, tribenuron methyl, thifedsulfuron-methyl, chlorsulfuron, bensulfuron-methyl;   selecting a secondary agrochemical active ingredient from diuron, lunuron, metribuzin, oxyfluorfen and propanil;   providing a dispersing agent; and   extruding a mixture to form a composition wherein the mixture has the primary agrochemical active ingredient, the secondary agrochemical active ingredient and the dispersing agent wherein the primary agrochemical active ingredient is present at a levE of less than 10% of weight of the composition wherein the secondary agrochemical active ingredient is present at a level of more than 50% by weight of the composition.   
     
     
         51 . The method according to  claim 50  wherein a solubility rate of the primary agrochemical active ingredient is higher than a solubility rate of the primary agrochemical active ingredient in a composition having same levels of the primary agrochemical active ingredient and the secondary agrochemical active ingredient in separate granules. 
     
     
         52 . The method according to  claim 50  furthing comprising the step of:
 selecting the primary agrochemical active ingredient from metsulfuron-methyl, nicosulfuron, rimsulfuron, tribenuron methyl and thifensulfuron-methyl and the secondary active is selected from propanil and diuron.   
     
     
         53 . The method according to  claim 50  further comprising the step of:
 preparing a wetted mixture in the form of a free-flowing powder having the primary agrochemical active ingredient, the secondary agrochemical active ingredient, the dispersing agent and optionally other components wherein at least one of the dispersing agent and optional other component is liquid wherein granules form from the composition.   
     
     
         54 . The method according to  claim 53  wherein the liquid of the wetted mixture is water. 
     
     
         55 . The method according to  claim 50  further comprising the step of:
 drying the composition to form granules.

 mixing a liquid carrier with the composition for applying to the plant or the locus of the plant to be treated.
