Abstract

The present invention provides a method for lowering intraocular pressure and providing neuroprotection to a patient in need thereof by administering a therapeutically effective amount of at least one non-nucleotide or non-protein agent that inhibits expression and/or signaling of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A composition for lowering intraocular pressure and providing neuroprotection in a patient in need thereof, said composition comprising at least one agent that inhibits the expression, signaling, or biological functions of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

2 . A composition according to claim 1 , wherein the total concentration of said CTGF inhibitor in said composition is from 0.01% to 2%.

3 . A composition according to claim 1 , wherein said CTGF inhibitor is a CDK inhibitor.
