Abstract

A ball and socket joint connection includes a retaining part having a fastening point and a journal slot; a ball-like component arranged in the retaining part; a rod part which is pivotable in a pivoting plane relative to the retaining part, the pivoting plane passing through the journal slot and the fastening point. A ball socket fixed to the rod part has a spherical recess in which the ball-like component is rotatably seated, a radially directed opening for receiving the ball-like component in the spherical recess, and a bearing shoulder between the spherical recess and the opening, the bearing shoulder retaining the ball-like component in the spherical recess.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A ball and socket joint connection comprising:
a retaining part having a fastening point and a journal slot; a ball-like component arranged in the retaining part; a rod part which is pivotable in a pivoting plane relative to the retaining part, the pivoting plane passing through the journal slot and the fastening point; and a one-piece ball socket fixed to the rod part, the ball socket having a spherical recess in which the ball-like component is rotatably seated, a radially directed opening for receiving the ball-like component in the spherical recess, and a bearing shoulder between the spherical recess and the opening, the bearing shoulder retaining the ball-like component in the spherical recess.

2 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 1 further comprising a ball socket holder arranged axially on an end of the rod part, the ball socket being fixed in the ball socket holder.

3 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 2 wherein the ball socket holder is screwed onto the end of the rod part.

4 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 3 wherein the end of the rod part has an external thread, the ball socket holder having a threaded bore which receives the threaded end of the rod part.

5 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 1 further comprising a retaining element which holds the ball-like component in the retaining part.

6 . The ball and socket joint of claim 5 wherein the retaining element is an axle extending transversely to the pivoting plane, the axle passing through the ball-like component and having opposite ends fastened to the retaining part.

7 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 6 wherein the axle is formed as one piece with the ball-like component.

8 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 6 wherein the axle comprises a journal which passes through the ball-like component.

9 . The ball and socket joint connection of claim 6 wherein the retaining par has a pair of holes which receive the ends of the axle therethrough.
