Bed With Simultaneously Movable Barrier and Bed Plane Elements

Abstract

A bed, comprises a bed plane having a movable bed plane element ( 23 ) and a barrier laterally adjacent the bed plane. The barrier includes primary and secondary barrier elements ( 5, 5″″ ) longitudinally displacable relative to each other. The secondary barrier element is connected to the movable bed plane element such that the secondary element and the bed plane element are simultaneously movable.

1 . A bed, comprising:
 a bed plane having a movable bed plane element;   a barrier laterally adjacent the bed plane, the barrier comprising primary and secondary barrier elements longitudinally displacable relative to each other;   the secondary barrier element being connected to the movable bed plane element such that the secondary element and the bed plane element are simultaneously movable.   
   
   
       2 . The bed of  claim 1  wherein the secondary barrier element moves in response to movement of the movable bed plane element. 
   
   
       3 . The bed of  claim 1  wherein the secondary barrier element slides simultaneously with the movable bed plane element to adapt the secondary barrier element to a length of the bed. 
   
   
       4 . The bed of  claim 1  wherein the primary barrier element is hollow and the secondary barrier element is received inside the primary barrier element. 
   
   
       5 . The bed of  claim 1  wherein the movable bed plane element and the secondary barrier element are pivotably connected to each other. 
   
   
       6 . The bed of claim of  5  wherein the pivotable connection takes place at a locking device extending from the movable bed plane element. 
   
   
       7 . The bed of  claim 6  wherein the secondary barrier element rests on the locking device. 
   
   
       8 . The bed of  claim 5  wherein the pivotable connection is effected by a pivot and support pin. 
   
   
       9 . The bed of  claim 6 , wherein the secondary barrier element is movable with respect to the primary barrier element, while always being supported on the locking device irrespective of the orientation of the movable bed plane element relative to other bed plane elements. 
   
   
       10 . The bed of  claim 1  wherein the movable element is provided with an integral extension. 
   
   
       11 . The bed of  claim 10  wherein the integral extension has a length of about 18 cm.
