Abstract

A method of replacing a damaged portion of a wall of a coke oven, the coke oven wall having a height h and a length l, the damaged coke oven wall portion having a height h and a length l 1 , comprises removing the damaged wall portion from the coke oven, casting, outside of the oven, a replacement wall section having a length equal to the length l 1 of the damaged coke oven wall portion and a height equal to the height h of the damaged coke oven wall portion, and positioning, inside the coke oven, the replacement wall section.

1 . A method of replacing a damaged portion of a wall of a coke: oven, the coke oven wall having a height h and a length l, the damaged coke oven wall portion having a height h and a length l 1 , the method comprising:
 removing the damaged wall portion from the coke oven,   casting, outside of the oven, a replacement wall section having a length equal to the length l 1  of the damaged coke oven wall portion and a height equal to the height h of the damaged coke oven wall portion, and   positioning, inside the coke oven, the replacement wall section.   
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the replacement wall section is cast with at least one vertical flue therein. 
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the replacement wall section is cast with from one to ten vertical flues therein. 
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1  wherein l 1 =l. 
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein l 1 <l. 
   
   
       6 . A method of replacing a coke oven wall section, the coke oven wall having a height h, the method comprising:
 removing the coke oven wall section from the coke oven,   casting, outside of the oven, a replacement wall section having a height equal to the height h of the coke oven wall, and   positioning, inside the coke oven, the replacement wall section.   
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the replacement wall section is equal to a length l of the coke oven wall. 
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the replacement wall section is equal to a fraction of a length l of the coke oven wall. 
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the replacement wall section is cast with at least one vertical flue therein. 
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the replacement wall section is cast with from one to ten vertical flues therein.
