Abstract
An inkjet print head has a wall that separates an interior of the inkjet print head from an exterior of the inkjet print head. A channel passes completely through the wall for receiving a conduit therein. A trough is formed on an exterior of the component. A sidewall of the trough has an opening that aligns with the channel. The opening is for receiving the conduit therethrough before the channel receives the conduit.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An inkjet print head, comprising:
a wall that separates an interior of the inkjet print head from an exterior of the inkjet print head; a channel passing completely through the wall for receiving a conduit therein; and a trough formed on an exterior of the inkjet print head; wherein a sidewall of the trough has an opening that aligns with the channel, wherein the opening is for receiving the conduit therethrough before the channel receives the conduit.
2 . The inkjet print head of claim 1 , further comprising a sleeve passing through the opening in the sidewall, traversing the trough, and extending into the channel, the sleeve adapted to receive the conduit therein and adapted to be welded to the conduit using a beam of light.
3 . The inkjet print head of claim 2 , wherein the sleeve comprises a slot passing through a wall thereof for passing light into the sleeve and through the conduit to an interior surface of sleeve when the conduit is inserted in the sleeve during welding.
4 . The inkjet print head of claim 2 , wherein the sleeve is substantially transparent to light when the conduit is an absorber of the light.
5 . The inkjet print head of claim 2 , wherein the sleeve is an absorber of light when the conduit is substantially transparent to the light.

The inkjet print head of claim 1 , wherein a base of the trough has a groove that extends between the sidewall and the wall that separates an interior of the inkjet print head from an exterior of the inkjet print head, the groove aligned with the channel and the opening in the sidewall, the groove adapted to receive the conduit therein so that the groove contains a portion of the conduit.
7 . The inkjet print head of claim 1 , wherein the inkjet print head is an absorber of light and the conduit is substantially transparent to the light.
8 . The inkjet print head of claim 1 , wherein the channel is adapted to frictionally engage the conduit.
9 . An inkjet print head, comprising:
a first wall that separates an interior of the inkjet print head from an exterior of the inkjet print head; a channel passing completely through the first wall; a step protruding from an outer surface of the first wall and terminating at a second wall that extends from the step in opposition to the first wall; and a sleeve passing through the second wall, traversing the step, and extending into the first wall so as to align with the channel, the sleeve adapted to receive a conduit therein and adapted to be welded to the conduit using a beam of light, wherein the sleeve has different light absorption properties than the conduit.
10 . The inkjet print head of claim 9 , wherein the sleeve comprises a slot passing through a wall thereof for passing light into the sleeve and through the conduit to an interior surface of sleeve when the conduit is inserted in the sleeve during welding.
11 . The inkjet print head of claim 9 , wherein the sleeve comprises a longitudinal bore that tapers in a direction from the second wall toward the first wall.
12 . The inkjet print head of claim 9 , wherein the sleeve is partially embedded in the step.
13 . The inkjet print head of claim 9 , wherein the sleeve is substantially transparent to light when the conduit is an absorber of the light.
14 . The inkjet print head of claim 9 , wherein the sleeve is an absorber of light when the conduit is substantially transparent to the light.
15 . An inkjet print head, comprising:
a wall that separates an interior of the inkjet print head from an exterior of the inkjet print head; a channel passing completely through the wall for receiving a conduit therein; and a trough formed on an exterior of the inkjet print head; wherein a sidewall of the trough has an opening that aligns with the channel, wherein the opening is for receiving the conduit therethrough before the channel receives the conduit; wherein a base of the trough has a groove that extends between the sidewall and the wall that separates an interior of the inkjet print head from an exterior of the inkjet print head, the groove aligned with the channel and the opening in the sidewall, the groove adapted to receive a conduit therein so that the groove contains a portion of the conduit; and wherein the inkjet print head is an absorber of light and the conduit is substantially transparent to the light.
