Abstract
A request for a funds transfer is received from a first financial institution located in a first country. The request includes data that indicates the name and residential address of an individual who initiated the funds transfer. The funds transfer is routed from the first financial institution to a second financial institution located in a second country that is different from the first country. The routing of the funds transfer includes transmitting, to the second financial institution, the name and residential address of the individual who initiated the funds transfer.

receiving a request for a funds transfer from a first financial institution located in a first country, the request including data that indicates the name and residential address of an individual who initiated the funds transfer; and routing the funds transfer from the first financial institution to a second financial institution located in a second country that is different from the first country, the routing of the funds transfer including transmitting, to the second financial institution, the name and residential address of the individual who initiated the funds transfer.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated by the individual interacting with a web page.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated via an automatic teller machine (ATM).
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated from a bank branch.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated from a mobile telephone.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the request for the funds transfer is received from the mobile telephone via an automatic response unit at the first financial institution.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein:
a mobile telephone operating company receives the request for the funds transfer from the mobile telephone; the mobile telephone operating company processes the request for the funds transfer; and the mobile telephone operating company relays the request for the funds transfer to the first financial institution.
8 . The method of claim 5 , wherein:
a payment services provider receives the request for the funds transfer from the mobile telephone; the payment services provider processes the request for the funds transfer; and the payment services provider relays the request for the funds transfer to the first financial institution.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the funds transfer is routed to a payment card account at the second financial institution.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the funds transfer is charged to a payment card account at the first financial institution.
11 . A method comprising:
receiving, from a first financial institution, a request for a funds transfer, the first financial institution located in a first country; receiving, from the first financial institution, data that indicates the name and residential address of an individual who initiated the funds transfer; routing the funds transfer from the first financial institution to a second financial institution located in a second country that is different from the first country; and transmitting, to the second financial institution, the name and residential address of the individual who initiated the funds transfer.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated by the individual interacting with a web page.
13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated via an automatic teller machine (ATM).
14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated from a bank branch.
15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the funds transfer was initiated from a mobile telephone.
16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the funds transfer is routed to a payment card account at the second financial institution.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the funds transfer is charged to a payment card account at the first financial institution.
18 . An apparatus comprising:
a processor; and a memory in communication with the processor, the memory storing program instructions, the processor operative with the program instructions to:
receive, from a first financial institution, a request for a funds transfer, the first financial institution located in a first country;
receive, from the first financial institution, data that indicates the name and residential address of an individual who initiated the funds transfer;
route the funds transfer from the first financial institution to a second financial institution located in a second country that is different from the first country; and
transmit, to the second financial institution, the name and residential address of the individual who initiated the funds transfer.
19 . The apparatus of claim 18 , wherein the processor is operative to route the funds transfer using a payment card account number that identifies a payment card account at the second financial institution.
20 . A method comprising:
receiving, from a first financial institution, a request for a funds transfer; receiving, from a second financial institution, data that indicates the name and residential address of an individual who initiated the funds transfer; routing the funds transfer to a third financial institution; and transmitting, to the third financial institution, the name and residential address of the individual who initiated the funds transfer.
21 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising:
prior to said second receiving step, transmitting to the second financial institution a payment card account number that identifies a payment card account that belongs to the individual who initiated the funds transfer.
22 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising:
clearing the funds transfer from the second financial institution to the third financial institution.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the funds transfer is cleared via the first financial institution.
24 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
prior to transmitting said payment card account number, receiving, from said first financial institution, data for identifying said payment card account.
25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein said data for identifying said payment card account is said payment card account number.
26 . The method of claim 24 , wherein said data for identifying said payment card account is a mobile telephone number of the individual who initiated the funds transfer.Cited by (0)
