Device, system and method for accurate printing of three dimensional objects
Abstract
A method for building a three-dimensional object by depositing drops of material from a printing head onto a printing surface, layer upon layer is provided. The method includes providing data representing a layer of a three-dimensional object having X and Y coordinates, where X represents the direction of motion of the printing head; applying an X offset parameter for the X coordinate to compensate for inaccuracies caused by deviation of a drop flight trajectory between forward and reverse motions of the printing head; modifying the data based on the X offset parameter and printing the layer of the three-dimensional object according to modified data.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for building a three-dimensional object by depositing drops of material from a printing head onto a printing surface, layer upon layer, the method comprising:
providing data representing a layer of a three-dimensional object, the data comprising X and Y coordinates, wherein X represents the direction of motion of the printing head; applying an X offset parameter for the X coordinate to compensate for inaccuracies caused by deviation of a drop flight trajectory between forward and reverse motions of the printing head; modifying the data based on the X offset parameter; and printing the layer of the three-dimensional object according to modified data.
2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the X offset parameter is a position adjustment.
3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the X offset parameter is a timing adjustment.
4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the X offset parameter is calculated such that drops land on the same intended pixel position in both forward and reverse motion.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the X offset parameter is calculated such that drops intended to land on a theoretical edge of the three-dimensional object would land on an actual edge of the object.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein printing according to the modified data prevents dripping of drops on walls of the three-dimensional object.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein printing according to the modified data prevents the drops from missing an edge of the three-dimensional object.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the X offset parameter is of one or more pixels.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the X offset parameter is in a form of a fraction of a pixel.
10 . The method of claim 1 comprising:
adjusting the X offset parameter based on the speed of the printing head.
11 . The method of claim 1 comprising:
adjusting the X offset parameter based on the distance between the printing head and the layer.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
