Abstract

A high definition video transmitter and receiver are disclosed. The transmitter provides high definition video to a one-point receiver or to multipoint receivers. The transmission network is asynchronous and the receiver re-synchronizes the video. The transmission can be wired or wireless.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A point to multipoint communication system for transmission of High Definition Audiovisual Data frames from a transmitter to active ones of multiple receivers, comprising:
at each active one of the multiple receivers: (1) a microcontroller participating in an retransmission session with the transmitter for receipt of the Audiovisual Data frames, and (2) an Infrared receiver receiving infrared control codes with a carrier from an appliance associated with the receiver and converting the Infrared control codes into digital codes understood by the microcontroller, the microcontroller extracting timing information from the digital codes and transmitting via the retransmission session the timing information without the carrier for use by the transmitter to recreate the Infrared control codes using a common Infrared carrier known to the transmitter and receiver.

2 . A point to multipoint communication system for transmission of High Definition Audiovisual Data frames from a transmitter to active ones of multiple receivers, comprising:
at each active one of the multiple receivers: (1) a microcontroller participating in an retransmission session with the transmitter for receipt of the Audiovisual Data frames, and (2) an Infrared receiver receiving Infrared control codes with a carrier from an appliance associated with the receiver and converting the Infrared control codes into digital codes understood by the microcontroller, the microcontroller extracting timing information from the digital codes and transmitting via the retransmission session both the timing information and the carrier for use by the transmitter to recreate the Infrared control codes.
