Seed containing endophyte of a tall fescue variety having rhizomes

Abstract

A tall fescue variety known as breeder's code Bar Fa 08PB and seed used to produce the grass are provided. Methods of using the grass plant and the seed are also provided. This grass is suitable for use in turf (lawns, pastures, golf courses, sod, and other areas where excellent turf quality is desired) and forage pastures.

1 . A grass seed comprising an endophyte of a tall fescue plant, wherein the tall fescue plant consists of the morphological and physiological properties of a grass plant grown from a seed deposited under American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) No. PTA-3825.

       4 . Sod, comprising the grass plant of  claim 3 . 
   
   
       5 . The grass seed of  claim 1 , wherein the tall fescue plant comprises about 55 ppb of ergovaline and <100 ppb of lolitrem B. 
   
   
       6 . The grass seed of  claim 1 , wherein the seed comprises about 183 ppb of ergovaline and <100 ppb of lolitrem B. 
   
   
       7 . The grass seed of  claim 1 , wherein the grass seed comprises tall fescue grass seed.
