Abstract
A reaction mixture composition capable of forming crystals of titanosilicate zeolite TS-1, comprising at least one active source of silica, at least one active source of titanium oxide, at least one nitrogenated organic base, and sufficient water. In one embodiment the composition is in the form of a self-supporting, shapeable mass. In one embodiment there is provided preferred molar composition ranges of the components. In another embodiment the reaction mixture has a water/silica molar ratio of no greater than about 3.
Claims

A reaction mixture composition capable of forming crystals of titanosilicate zeolite TS-1, said composition comprising at least one active source of silica and at least one active source of titanium oxide in amounts sufficient to produce zeolite TS-1, at least one quaternary ammonium cation capable of forming crystals of TS-1 and sufficient water to produce TS-1, said composition being in the form of a self-supporting, shapeable mass.
2 . The reaction mixture of claim 1 , wherein said reaction mixture has a water/silica molar ratio during crystallization of no greater than about 3.
3 . The reaction mixture of claim 2 , wherein said reaction mixture has a water/silica molar ratio during crystallization between about 0.7 and about 2.
4 . A reaction mixture composition, comprising:
a. at least one active source of silica; b. at least one active source of titanium oxide; c. at least one quaternary ammonium cation; and d. an amount of water; wherein said reaction mixture is capable of forming crystals of titanosilicate zeolite TS-1, and has the following molar composition ranges:
SiO 2 /TiO 2 =25-5.00
OH − /SiO 2 =0.04-0.30
H 2 O/SiO 2 =0.5-3
Q/SiO 2 =0.04-0.30,
where Q is the quaternary ammonium cation.
5 . The reaction mixture composition of claim 4 , wherein said composition is in the form of a self-supporting, shapeable mass.
6 . A reaction mixture composition capable of forming crystals of titanosilicate zeolite TS-1, comprising:
a. at least one active source of silica selected from the group consisting of silicates, silica hydrogel, silicic acid, colloidal silica, fumed silica, tetraalkylorthosilicates, silica hydroxides, precipitated silica, and clays; b. at least one active source of titanium oxide; c. at least one nitrogenated organic base capable of forming crystals of TS-1; and d. an amount of water wherein said reaction mixture has a water/silica molar ratio of no greater than about 3.
7 . The reaction mixture of claim 6 , wherein said at least one nitrogenated organic base comprises a tetraalkylammonium cation.
8 . The reaction mixture of claim 7 , wherein said tetraalkylammonium cation comprises tetrapropylammonium cation (TPA), tetraethylammonium cation (TEA), or mixture thereof.Cited by (0)
