Abstract
Thirty substantially pure and biologically active peptides are disclosed. Nucleic acids that have sequences coding for the biologically active peptides and pharmaceutical formulations produced therefrom are also disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of treating nephritis, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of an isolated peptide consisting of SEQ. ID NO:7.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein administering said peptide in said subject inhibits T-lymphocyte transformation; modulates antibody synthesis activities upon antigenic challenge; decreases weight of spleen; increases weight of thymus gland; increases immunity of a cancer patient; or any combination thereof.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the peptide is administered as a composition further comprising a pharmaceutically or biologically acceptable carrier or diluent.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is suitable for intravenous, intraarterial, intramuscular, topical, intracutaneous, subcutaneous, intradermal, transdermal, oral or inhalable administration, or by implantation.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for the oral administration comprises a tablet, capsule, suspension, or solution, all of which may be provided in a liposomal formulation, slow release form, or with gastro-enteric protection.
6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for topical administration comprises an ointment, cream, or gel, all of which may be provided in a topical formulation, or therewith a transdermal facilitating device.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the peptide is administered intravenously, intraarterially, intramuscularly, topically, intracutaneously, subcutaneously, intradermally, transdermally, orally or by inhalation.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said peptide is administered with a food supplement.
9 . A method of treating an immunological condition, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of an isolated peptide consisting of SEQ. ID NO:7.
10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein administering said peptide in said subject inhibits T-lymphocyte transformation; modulates antibody synthesis activities upon antigenic challenge; decreases weight of spleen; increases weight of thymus gland; increases immunity of a cancer patient; or any combination thereof.
11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the peptide is administered as a composition further comprising a pharmaceutically or biologically acceptable carrier or diluent.
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is suitable for intravenous, intraarterial, intramuscular, topical, intracutaneous, subcutaneous, intradermal, transdermal, oral or inhalable administration, or by implantation.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for the oral administration comprises a tablet, capsule, suspension, or solution, all of which may be provided in a liposomal formulation, slow release form, or with gastro-enteric protection.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier for topical administration comprises an ointment, cream, or gel, all of which may be provided in a topical formulation, or therewith a transdermal facilitating device.
15 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the peptide is administered intravenously, intraarterially, intramuscularly, topically, intracutaneously, subcutaneously, intradermally, transdermally, orally or by inhalation.
16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein said peptide is administered with a food supplement.Cited by (0)
