Method and system for targeted marketing by leveraging video-based demographic insights
Abstract
Demographic and transaction data are presented in a report usable for marketing-related purposes and other applications using a camera apparatus to capture customer image data at a point-of-sale location and sends the image data to a customer image database where the image data is stored. Demographic data (such as gender, age group, height) are extracted from the customer image data and sent to the customer image database. Point-of-sale transaction data is collected and sent to a transaction database where the transaction data is stored. A computer processes customer image data, transaction data, and attributes relating to the customer image data and transaction data, to correlate extracted demographic data to transaction data. The correlated data is preferably sent to a target marketing database and used to generate a market research report.

20 . A method for generating a report correlating customer demographics and transaction data at a transaction location, comprising:
optically scanning the transaction location and generating a corresponding image data; generating a customer category data, based on said image data, identifying a customer according to a given set of customer categories, based on said image data; collecting transaction data at the transaction location, said data identifying transacted items; generating a transaction category data identifying a transaction according to a given set of transaction categories, based on said collected transaction data; receiving a request for a specific correlation report, said request identifying specific customer categories from among said given set of customer categories and specific transaction categories from among said given set of transaction categories; and generating a specific correlation report by correlating said specific customer categories with specific transaction categories.
21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein said correlating includes identifying clusters of said customer category data with respect to said transaction categories.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein said correlating includes performing data mining to identify the clusters of said customer category data with respect to said transaction categories.
23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein said correlating includes performing a data analytic algorithm to identify the clusters of said customer category data with respect to said transaction categories.
24 . The method of claim 20 , wherein said given set of transaction categories includes a time category and a store section category, and wherein said correlating includes identifying clusters of said customer category data with respect to said time category and store section category.

The method of claim 20 , wherein said given set of customer categories includes a party category data identifying a party of customers, a number of customers in the party, and a demographic information characterizing customers in the party, and wherein said correlating includes identifying clusters of said party category data with respect to said transaction categories.

The method of claim 24 , wherein said given set of customer categories includes a party category data identifying a party of customers, a number of customers in the party, and a demographic information characterizing customers in the party, and wherein said correlating includes identifying clusters of said party category data with respect to said time category and store section category.
27 . The method of claim 20 , wherein said request includes a request for a response model, and
