Abstract

The pharmaceutical composition and a method of treatment of infectious diseases, such as otitis media, paranasal sinusitis, labyrinthitis and meningitis are described. The composition comprises EP2E or homologues thereof.

1 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmacologically effective amount of EP2E polypeptide, wherein said amount of EP2E polypeptide is sufficient to treat a microbial infection in a mammal. 
     
     
         2 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said infection is selected from the group consisting of otitis media, paranasal sinusitis, labyrinthitis and meningitis. 
     
     
         3 . The composition of  claim 1 , wherein said EP2E polypeptide is synthesized chemically and refolded by oxidative refolding.
