Abstract

A brake pad includes a support plate which is embodied as a cast piece as well as a friction lining that is attached therein. The support plate is provided with a planiform base and raised, positively connected parts, which are molded onto the base and are enclosed by the friction lining. At least some of the positively connected parts are surrounded in at least some areas by an adjacent cavity of the base, resulting in an improved connection of the friction lining to the support plate.

1 . A brake pad for a disc brake, comprising:
 a cast lining carrier plate;   a friction lining fastened to the lining carrier plate;   wherein the lining carrier plate comprises a substantially planar basic body and a plurality of elevated positive connection parts integrally cast together with the basic body, said connection parts being enclosed by the friction lining; and   wherein at least one of said connection parts adjoins a depression in the basic body.   
   
   
       2 . The brake pad according to  claim 1 , wherein the adjoining depression surrounds at least in regions, the at least one connection part. 
   
   
       3 . The brake pad according to  claim 1 , wherein at least one connection part includes a recess on the free-end side facing away from the basic body, said recess being operatively configured to additionally secure the friction lining. 
   
   
       4 . The brake pad according to  claim 1 , wherein one or more of the connection parts are shaped as pegs extending away from the basic body, said pegs having a polygonal or round cross-section. 
   
   
       5 . The brake pad according to  claim 3 , wherein one or more of the connection parts are shaped as pegs extending away from the basic body, said pegs having a polygonal or round cross-section. 
   
   
       6 . The brake pad according to  claim 4 , wherein the pegs are arranged in rows offset with respect to one another. 
   
   
       7 . The brake pad according to  claim 1 , wherein one or more of the positive connection parts are configured as webs arranged at a spacing from one another. 
   
   
       8 . The brake pad according to  claim 7 , wherein said webs extend in a meandering manner over a surface of the basic body. 
   
   
       9 . The brake pad according to  claim 7 , wherein said webs extend over a surface of the basic body in parallel to one another. 
   
   
       10 . The brake pad according to  claim 3 , wherein the recess has a cavity-shaped configuration. 
   
   
       11 . The brake pad according to  claim 3 , wherein a depth of the recess corresponds approximately to a height of the connection part. 
   
   
       12 . The brake pad according to  claim 10 , wherein a depth of the recess corresponds approximately to a height of the connection part. 
   
   
       13 . A brake pad component of a brake pad for a disc brake, comprising:
 a cast lining carrier plate, comprising
 a basic body having first and second majority side surfaces; 
 a plurality of elevations extending away from the first side surface of the basic body; and 
 at least one depression in the first side surface of the basic body substantially adjoining one of the elevations. 
   
   
   
       14 . The brake pad component according to  claim 13 , further comprising a recess arranged in a free end of an elevation facing away from the basic body. 
   
   
       15 . The brake pad component according to  claim 14 , wherein one or more of the elevations are peg-shaped and have a polygonal or round cross-section.
