Automatic recording/reproducing method and automatic recording/reproducing apparatus

Abstract

Recording reservation information of a plurality of programs is grouped and at least the latest program among the programs recorded on the basis of the reservation information is left on a recording medium. Therefore, a program information registration unit to register a plurality of items of recording reservation information as groups and a reserved program recording control unit to record the reserved programs onto the recording medium and leave at least the latest program among the programs recorded on the recording medium to delete the others on the basis of the reservation information.

       2 . A recording control apparatus, comprising:
 a program reservation information registration unit configured to register a recording reservation based on program information included in a broadcasting signal; and   a recording control unit including a first recording form and a second recording form, the first recording form being configured to record reserved programs corresponding to the recording reservation in an empty area on a recording medium, and the second recording form being configured to record reserved programs corresponding to the recording reservation on the recording medium, together with deletion of recorded programs,   wherein the second recording form is an active form for a predetermined program.

The apparatus according to  claim 2 , wherein the recording control unit operating in the second recording form records the reserved programs corresponding to the recording reservation wherein the recording is accompanied by overwriting on a part of the recorded programs, or records the reserved programs corresponding to the recording reservation in an empty area on the recording medium wherein the recording is accompanied by deletion of recorded programs on the recording medium. 
   
   
       4 . The apparatus according to  claim 2 , wherein the predetermined content is at least one of a weather forecast program and a news program. 
   
   
       5 . A recording control apparatus, comprising:
 an automatic recording function unit configured to record reserved programs corresponding to the recording reservation on a recording medium;   a program reservation information registration unit configured to register a recording reservation based on program information included in a broadcasting signal, the recording reservation being for a weather forecast program and a news program;   a recording control unit configured to record the weather forecast program and the news program on the recording medium;   a reproducing control unit configured to respond to an operation input and to reproduce the last recorded weather forecast program and news program; and   an output unit configured to output an output signal reproduced by the reproducing control unit to a display unit.   
   
   
       6 . The apparatus according to  claim 5 , wherein the recording control unit records a new weather forecast program and a news program, and the recording is accompanied by overwriting on a part of the recorded weather forecast program and the news program.

The apparatus according to  claim 5 , wherein the recording control unit cancels the recording of the new weather forecast program and the news program when the recording continuation time of the new weather forecast program and the news program is longer than a predetermined period of time. 
   
   
       8 . The apparatus according to  claim 5 , wherein the operation input is generated by a depression of a dedicated button provided on a remote controller. 
   
   
       9 . A method of controlling a recording control apparatus, comprising:
 registering a recording reservation based on program information included in a broadcasting signal;   first of recording a program corresponding to the recording reservation in an empty area of a recording medium; and   second recording a program on the recording medium, together with deletion of recorded programs,   wherein the second recording is executed for programs including a predetermined content.   
   
   
       10 . The method according to  claim 9 , wherein the predetermined content is at least one of a weather forecast program and a news program.
