Abstract
The invention provides novel polynucleotides and polypeptides encoded by such polynucleotides and mutants or variants thereof that correspond to a novel human secreted CD84-like polypeptide. These polynucleotides comprise nucleic acid sequences isolated from cDNA library from human spleen (Hyseq clone identification numbers 2938352 (SEQ ID NO: 1)). Other aspects of the invention include vectors containing processes for producing novel human secreted CD84-like polypeptides, and antibodies specific for such polypeptides.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An isolated polynucleotide comprising a nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 2-3, 5, the translated protein coding portion thereof or the mature protein coding portion thereof.
2 . An isolated polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide with biological activity, which polynucleotide hybridizes to the complement of a polynucleotide of claim 1 under stringent hybridization conditions.
3 . An isolated polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide with biological activity, said polynucleotide having greater than about 90% sequence identity with the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
4 . The polynucleotide of claim 1 , wherein said polynucleotide comprises the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3, or the mature protein coding portion thereof.
5 . The polynucleotide of claim 1 , wherein said polynucleotide comprises the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5, or the mature protein coding portion thereof.
6 . The polynucleotide of claim 3 , wherein said polynucleotide encodes a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4.
7 . The polynucleotide of claim 3 , wherein said polynucleotide encodes a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 99% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4.
8 . The polynucleotide of claim 3 , wherein said polynucleotide encodes a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4.
9 . The polynucleotide of claim 1 which is a DNA sequence.
10 . An isolated polynucleotide which comprises the complement of the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
11 . A vector comprising the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
12 . An expression vector comprising the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
13 . A host cell genetically engineered to express the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
14 . The host cell of claim 13 wherein the polynucleotide is in operative association with a regulatory sequence that controls expression of the polynucleotide in the host cell.
15 . A method for detecting the polynucleotide of claim 1 in a sample, comprising:
a) contacting the sample with a compound that binds to and forms a complex with the polynucleotide of claim 1 for a period sufficient to form the complex; and b) detecting the complex, so that if a complex is detected, the polynucleotide of claim 1 is detected.
16 . A method for detecting the polynucleotide of claim 1 in a sample, comprising:
a) contacting the sample under stringent hybridization conditions with nucleic acid primers that anneal to the polynucleotide of claim 1 under such conditions; b) amplifying a product comprising at least a portion of the polynucleotide of claim 1 ; and c) detecting said product and thereby the polynucleotide of claim 1 in the sample.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the polynucleotide comprises an RNA molecule and the method further comprises reverse transcribing an annealed RNA molecule into a cDNA polynucleotide.
18 . A nucleic acid array comprising the polynucleotide of claim 1 or a unique segment of the polynucleotide of claim 1 attached to a surface.
19 . The array of claim 18 , wherein the array detects full-matches to the polynucleotide or a unique segment of the polynucleotide of claim 1 .
20 . The array of claim 18 , wherein the array detects mismatches to the polynucleotide or a unique segment of the polynucleotide of claim 1 .Cited by (0)
