Liquid crystal display device

Abstract

In a liquid crystal display device, a recessed portion is formed in a portion of a periphery of a lower frame, a columnar member is provided to the recessed portion, the columnar member is allowed to pass through a hole formed in a projecting portion which is provided on an optical sheet, and a side surface of a liquid crystal panel is brought into contact with the columnar member. The columnar member provided on the lower frame not only determines the position of the liquid crystal panel with respect to the lower frame, but also determines the position of the optical sheet with respect to the lower frame and firmly holds the optical sheet onto the lower frame, thus preventing the disengagement of the optical sheet from the lower frame.

1 . A display device comprising:
 a liquid crystal panel;   a light guide plate;   a diffusion sheet disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the light guide plate; and   a mold case,   wherein the diffusion sheet comprises a first side edge, a second side edge opposed to the first side edge, and an upper edge transverse to the first side edge and the second side edge, a first projection portion protruding from the first side edge and a second projection portion protruding from the second side edge;   wherein the light guide plate comprises a third side edge corresponding to the first side edge of the diffusion sheet and a fourth side edge corresponding to the second side edge of the diffusion sheet, and a third projection portion protruding from the third side edge;   wherein the mold case comprises a first holding portion holding the first projection portion of the diffusion sheet and a second holding portion holding the second projection portion of the diffusion sheet, and a recessed portion holding the third projection portion of the light guide plate; and   wherein the first holding portion is apart from the recessed portion of the mold case.   
     
     
         2 . The display device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the first holding portion of the mold case is a first recessed portion loosely holding the first projection portion of the diffusion sheet, and the second holding portion is a second recessed portion loosely holding the second projection portion of the diffusion sheet.   
     
     
         3 . The display device according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the second projection portion comprises an opening, and the mold case comprises a columnar member provided in the second recessed portion passing through the opening of the diffusion sheet, and the columnar member is formed integrally with the mold case.   
     
     
         4 . The display device according to  claim 3 ,
 wherein the columnar member serves as a guide for positioning the liquid crystal panel.   
     
     
         5 . The display device according to  claim 3 ,
 wherein the diffusion sheet comprises a fourth projection portion protruding from the upper edge, and the mold case comprises a third holding portion holding the fourth projection portion.   
     
     
         6 . The display device according to  claim 5 ,
 wherein the third holding portion of the mold case is a third recessed portion loosely holding the fourth projection portion of the diffusion sheet.   
     
     
         7 . The display device according to  claim 6 ,
 wherein the columnar member serves as a guide for positioning the liquid crystal panel.   
     
     
         8 . The display device according to  claim 2 ,
 wherein the diffusion sheet comprises a fourth projection portion protruding from the upper edge, and the mold case comprises a third holding portion holding the fourth projection portion.   
     
     
         9 . The display device according to  claim 8 ,
 wherein the third holding portion of the mold case is a third recessed portion loosely holding the fourth projection portion of the diffusion sheet.

 wherein the columnar member serves as a guide for positioning the liquid crystal panel.
