Abstract

The present invention is directed to a suitcase style air compressor assembly having an extensible handle bar assembly and a wheel assembly. When the extensible handle bar assembly is fully extended, the suitcase style air compressor assembly may be transported by utilizing the extensible handle bar assembly and the wheel assembly. When the suitcase style air compressor assembly reaches a worksite, the extensible handle bar assembly may be retracted so that the suitcase style air compressor assembly does not occupy a large space.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 8 . (canceled)

9 . An air compressor assembly, comprising:
an air storage tank for storing compressed air; an air compressor for supplying the compressed air to the air storage tank; a shroud for enclosing the air storage tank and the air compressor; a first support member and a second support member mounted to the shroud; a wheel assembly mounted to the second support member; and an extensible handle bar assembly mounted to the shroud through the first support member and the second support member, wherein the extensible handle bar assembly cooperates with the wheel assembly for transporting the air compressor assembly.

10 . The air compressor assembly of claim 9 , wherein the extensible handle bar assembly includes a handle bar.

11 . The air compressor assembly of claim 10 , wherein the handle bar is substantially U shaped

12 . The air compressor assembly of claim 10 , wherein the handle bar is substantially L shaped or substantially T shaped.

13 . The air compressor assembly of claim 9 , wherein the first support member having passages defined therein through which the extensible handle bar assembly is capable of telescopic movement.

14 . The air compressor assembly of claim 9 , wherein the shroud includes a lift handle.

15 . The air compressor assembly of claim 9 , wherein the shroud is formed of plastic or metal.

16 . The air compressor assembly of claim 9 , wherein the shroud includes a storage compartment for storing air compressor accessories.

17 . The air compressor assembly of claim 9 , wherein the first support member is mounted to a middle of a back of the shroud, and the second support member is mounted to a bottom of a back of the shroud.

18 . An air compressor assembly, comprising:
an air storage tank for storing compressed air; an air compressor for supplying the compressed air to the air storage tank; a shroud for enclosing the air storage tank and the air compressor; a first support member and a second support member mounted to the shroud, the first support member having passages defined therein; a wheel assembly mounted to the second support member; and an extensible handle bar assembly mounted to the shroud through the first support member and the second support member, the extensible handle bar assembly including a substantially U shaped handle bar and being capable of telescopic movement through the passages, wherein the extensible handle bar assembly cooperates with the wheel assembly for transporting the air compressor assembly.

19 . The air compressor assembly of claim 18 , wherein the first support member is mounted to a middle of a back of the shroud, and the second support member is mounted to a bottom of a back of the shroud.

20 . The air compressor assembly of claim 18 , wherein the shroud includes a storage compartment for storing air compressor accessories.
