Abstract

An auxiliary electrical power system for providing auxiliary power to an electrical power distribution system containing a plurality of loads and a plurality of primary power sources, wherein each of the primary power sources is electrically connected to one or more of the plurality of loads. In one embodiment, the auxiliary electrical power system includes a generator electrically connected to the plurality of loads. A plurality of power converters are electrically connected between the generator and corresponding respective ones of the plurality of loads. Other embodiments of the auxiliary electrical power system have multiple generators electrically connected to ones of the plurality of loads via corresponding power converters. Methods of implementing an auxiliary electrical power system are also disclosed, as is an arrangement for increasing the reliability of power to a load through a connection with a parallel utility.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An auxiliary electrical power system for providing auxiliary power to an electrical power distribution system containing a plurality of electrical loads and a plurality of primary power sources, wherein each of the primary power sources is electrically connected to at least one of the plurality of electrical loads, the auxiliary electrical power system comprising:
an auxiliary electrical power generator electrically coupled to two of the plurality of electrical loads, wherein the two of the plurality of electrical loads are electrically connected to differing ones of the plurality of primary power sources; and two power converters electrically coupled between corresponding respective ones of the two of the plurality of electrical loads and said auxiliary electrical power generator.
