Abstract
A storage cabinet assembly for use in storing firearms or the like includes a cabinet with a recessed bifold door arrangement, to facilitate access to items contained within the cabinet assembly. The door arrangement includes a single-point locking system, which provides a secure arrangement for maintaining the doors in a closed position while providing ease in opening and closing the doors. Various support and storage modules or components are adapted to be contained within the interior of the cabinet, including stock rests for positioning in the bottom of the cabinet interior, as well as barrel rests and pistol supports that are secured to amounting member which may be adjustably positioned within the storage cabinet interior. A bin or shelf arrangement may also be positioned within the storage cabinet interior. The various support and storage modules or components may be used in various combinations, and may be moved to various positions within the storage cabinet interior.

51 . A firearm storage cabinet assembly for storing firearms, comprising:
a cabinet defining an interior and including a bottom wall, a top wall, a rear cabinet wall and an open front; an elongated firearm storage arrangement in a lower portion defined by the interior of the cabinet and accessible from the open front of the cabinet, wherein the elongated firearm storage arrangement includes an upwardly facing base arrangement secured within the cabinet adjacent the bottom wall of the cabinet, wherein the base arrangement is configured to receive and support the lower end of each of a plurality of elongated firearms, and a plurality of barrel supports interconnected with the rear cabinet wall and located above the base arrangement, wherein the each barrel support is configured to receive and support an upper end of one of the elongated firearms that is supported by the base arrangement, wherein the base arrangement and the plurality of barrel supports are configured and arranged to store a plurality of elongated firearms within the cabinet interior in an upright orientation; a handgun storage arrangement contained within the cabinet interior for supporting a plurality of handguns within the cabinet interior, wherein the handgun storage arrangement is interconnected with the rear cabinet wall and is located at an elevation above the barrel supports, wherein the handgun storage arrangement is configured to support the handguns such that the handguns are accessible from the open front of the cabinet; and a storage area contained within an upper portion of the cabinet interior at a location above the handgun storage arrangement and accessible from the open front of the cabinet, wherein the storage area is located between the top wall of the cabinet and one or more transverse walls located above the handgun storage arrangement, wherein the one or more transverse walls define upwardly facing storage surfaces.
52 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 51 , wherein the plurality of barrel supports are interconnected with the rear cabinet wall via a transverse barrel support mounting member located adjacent the rear cabinet wall.
53 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 52 , further comprising an adjustable height engagement arrangement interposed between the cabinet and the barrel support mounting member for varying the elevation of the barrel support mounting member, and thereby the barrel supports, within the cabinet interior.
54 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 52 , further comprising a pair of vertically extending support members forming a part of the cabinet, wherein the transverse barrel support mounting member extends between and is interconnected with the pair of vertically extending support members.
55 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 52 , wherein the plurality of barrel supports comprises a series of pairs of spaced apart arms, wherein each pair of arms defines a space within which an upper end of one of the elongated firearms is received.
56 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 51 , wherein the base arrangement comprises a base member located within the cabinet interior and above the bottom wall of the cabinet, wherein the base member defines a series of transversely spaced recess areas, each of which is configured to receive the lower end of one of the elongated firearms.
57 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 51 , wherein the handgun storage arrangement comprises a series of individual handgun support members, each of which includes a mounting section for interconnecting the handgun support with the cabinet, and a handgun engagement member that extends outwardly from the mounting section, wherein the handgun engagement member is configured so as to be engageable within the barrel of a handgun so that, when a handgun is supported by engagement of the handgun barrel with the handgun engagement member, the handgun extends outwardly relative to the rear wall of the cabinet
58 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 57 , further comprising a variable position engagement arrangement associated with each handgun support member for varying the position of the handgun support members within the interior of the cabinet.
59 . The firearm storage cabinet assembly of claim 51 , further comprising a door arrangement interconnected with the cabinet for selectively closing the open front of the cabinet.Cited by (0)
