Abstract
An adapater is disclosed. An adapter for securing a surgical device to a positioning stage is disclosed. The adapter includes a body member defined by a distal end and a proximal end. The body member includes at least one connector element for selectively securing the adapter to a positioning stage. One of the distal and proximal ends of the body member further includes a mounting member for securing a portion of the surgical device to the body member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An adapter for securing a surgical device to a positioning stage, comprising:
a body member defined by a distal end and a proximal end; wherein the body member includes at least one connecter element for selectively securing the adapter to a positioning stage; and wherein one of the distal and proximal ends of the body member farther includes a mounting member for securing a portion of a surgical device to the body member.
. The adapter of claim 1 , wherein the at least one connector element includes one or more holes for receiving a fastening element.
. The adapter of claim 1 , further including one or more holes positioned through the body member, wherein the holes are adapted to receive a locating pin for positioning a surgical device on the adapter.
. The adapter of claim 3 , wherein the one or more holes includes an elongated slot.
. The adapter of claim 1 , further comprising rails positioned along side edges of the body member, wherein the rails are shaped to matingly engage a portion of a surgical device.
. The adapter of claim 1 , wherein the mounting member is positioned on the proximal end of the body member.
. The adapter of claim 1 , wherein the mounting member includes a latch groove for cooperatively receiving a latch tongue from a surgical device.
. The adapter of claim 7 , wherein the latch groove is defined by an upwardly extending land portion.
. The adapter of claim 8 , wherein an upper edge of the upwardly extending land portion is beveled.
. The adapter of claim 1 , further including an upwardly extending wall portion positioned on one of the proximal end and distal end, opposite to the mounting member.
. The adapter of claim 10 , wherein the upwardly extending wall portion further includes a mounting post.
. The adapter of claim 1 , further comprising a slot formed on a portion of the body member, wherein the slot extends transverse to the length of the body member.
. An adapter assembly for securing a surgical device to a stage, comprising:
a body member defined by a distal end and a proximal end; wherein the body member includes at least a first connecter element for selectively securing the adapter to a second connector element for selectively securing the adapter to a stage; wherein one of the distal and proximal ends of the body member further includes a mounting member for securing a portion of a surgical device to the body member; and an introducer assembly comprising an introducer cannula and a retaining mechanism that cooperatively engages a portion of the body member.
. The adapter assembly of claim 13 , wherein the introducer assembly further comprises an introducer hub, wherein the introducer cannula includes a proximal end connected to the introducer hub and an open distal end.
. The adapter assembly of claim 14 , wherein the introducer hub includes a normally closed valve positioned therein.
. The adapter assembly of claim 13 , wherein the retaining member includes a pair of selectively releaseable clip members.
. The adapter assembly of claim 13 , further including an upwardly extending wall portion positioned on one of the proximal end and distal end, opposite to the mounting member, wherein the upwardly extending wall portion further includes a mounting post.
. The adapter assembly of claim 17 , wherein the retaining mechanism of the introducer assembly connects to the mounting post of the upwardly extending wall portion.
. The adapter assembly of claim 18 , wherein the retaining mechanism of the introducer assembly includes a pair of clip members that engage opposites sides of the mounting post.
. The adapter assembly of claim 14 , wherein the mounting mechanism of the introducer assembly is positioned below the introducer hub.
. The adapter assembly of claim 13 , further comprising a trocar holder assembly, wherein the trocar holder assembly further comprises a trocar holder and a trocar; wherein the trocar holder is selectively and matingly engageable with a portion of the body member such that the trocar is axially aligned with the introducer cannula.
. The adapter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the trocar holder further comprises at least one seat that receives the trocar therein.
. The adapter assembly of claim 22 , wherein the trocar holder further comprises a retaining mechanism that secures the trocar within the at least one seat.
. The adapter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the trocar holder further includes a pair of grooves that slidingly engage outer edges of the body member.
. The adapter assembly of claim 21 , further comprising an engagement member that frictionally secures the trocar holder assembly to the body member so as to prevent axial movement of the trocar assembly relative to the body member, and a selectively actuatable release member that releases the trocar holder assembly from the body member when actuated.Cited by (0)
